Sounds like £12.5m with add ons up to £18m.

Piss poor imo. but I'm not going to moan about our transfer activity in general

Good luck to him, decent keeper going to a decent club.

To be fair, we got 40m from them for sepp van den berg and carvahlo so prob gave them bit of a discount on that one.

I think it’s relatively fair. Given he’s 3rd choice, wanted to go we were in a poor negotiating state, but also I’d imagine the club didn’t want to proceed kelleher out of a move out of respect for him either.

Yeah I think that is it.

I'd hope they at least got a sell on in there
I would hope sell on and a Buy back. Who knows if the new guy will adapt or what will happen with Ali in the next couple of years. Having the chance to get CK back might come in useful

Clubs like Leeds should be all over this
Was reading this morning that Leeds and Burnely are limited by PSR and Championship spending rules. So probably can't afford to spend all on one player.
Sunderland are the only promoted team with apparently room to breath.

Talk that lfc and Leverkusen still €20m apart in valuations for Wirtz. Now talk of a player going other way with Elliott and Quansah linked.

As much as I’d like to keep Elliott, with Wirtz and szobo I doubt see a place for him in slots like up unfortunately and despite him being a better player, we can probably make do without Elliott more than Quansah.

Real shame if we were to lose him, but be a brilliant move for him to go play regularly as that number 10

Yeah, really seeing this as leverkusen are going to price us out.

In the end we need the players to build the side round and if we are being held up in getting the rest of the side right we are going to have to start thinking here

Could be one to revisit in August at this point, if someone else doesn't gazump anyway.

Imo we need the lb and striker more than the 10 even if he is a very exciting possibility.

Maybe it'll all break as being done in an hour who knows.

The fee for Wirtz keeps creeping up and i wonder if it is worth it for us

I'm just hoping.

I'm ignoring all the chatter that's going on as leverkusen ain't talking and we ain't talking so the only thing that's happening is timing is ticking by.

They'll make up all sorts to fill that air space.

I'm just hoping cos this guy could be legendary.

I'm always suspicious of how good players from Bundeslegia are as i like watching it but the standards aren't top level imo

Danns being linked to loan to Sunderland again after was cut short due to injury last time.

If he gets game time be useful but may be worth going to a good team in champ where will play 40 games and have chance of scoring 20 goals rather than play 10-15 in prem and score a couple

That's how the media works mate. Wouldn't make for a good new story if the price went down.

IMO, and I said this last week, there is too much noise with this rumour so I doubt it'll happen anyway

Not sure how there being so much talk about it means it won’t happen? Surely it’s the opposite, it’s so out there that pretty much a done deal bad the formalities now.

Ask yourself why the noise is there. Someone is leaking it and leaking it for a reason. What is that reason?

In recent years, we've been very good at keeping things behind closed doors. The times when it's been in the media, it's gone to **** more often that it's come to fruition.

Bayer want the best price possible as they rightly got shafted for Frimpong due to release clause. It’s a club record deal for both clubs, it’s not going to be done in 5 minutes.

Also have to take into account probably lots of talk around someone going opposite direction, plus bayer just got new manager announced - lots of moving parts.

Exactly, they're putting in the media to encourage others to get into a bidding war. They're happy to sit on it as long as it takes to get a better deal. But the whole time that is happening, there is the for a club to turn Wirtz's head.

Maybe it's just me but I don't like it all playing out in the media. Just feels like it's setting us up for a fall. Almost a lose-lose feeling; yes, we could succeed but because it's been dragging on for ages it feels more of a "finally" than a win. If he doesn't join, we look silly.

Makes sense for the deal to take a while, but me point was more about it playing out in the media
