Let him go.

He wants to be Spanish and play for real despite having no track record.

Born in Netherlands.

In Spain as a kid

In Italy as a youth

Over to bournemouth.

Real pick and choose type.

No idea what this even means?
he left Juve to get first team football and did that at Bournemouth and been one of standout cb’s in the league while making no controversy or anything out of sorts.

He's hopping all over.

He's got a career in mind to jump from one to another and end up at whatever his planned ending is.

I'm very sure it doesn't include lfc.

So off you pop to real and enjoy that life. We need people who want ro play here.

he went from juventus 2nd team to Bournemouth. How is that hoping all over?

No one has any idea what ‘career’ he has in mind. I imagine it’s to play at the very top and win medals like 99.9% of players.

Players are allowed to move clubs

Sounds great or terrible (depending on your point of view) until you back out a **** off coutinho fee thst got us all.our good players.

Thst skews the whole thing, as would say West ham's rice.fee and villas grealish fee.

What it tells me is that we are an incredibly well run club, because during that period, we’ve won plenty. I do think, every season, that we need to spend bigger, and every season I am pleasantly surprised…..as a fan, I think we need to spend big again this season…..I always do <laugh>

We probably won’t have a big net spend again this year and I’ll be a little disappointed that we are not keeping up…..like I was after last summer and then, hopefully, the team will prove me wrong (again) and remind me that they know what they’re doing. One year though, we will be right about the lower investment than our key competition. It’s inevitable. However, until then, I am happy for the club and team to prove me completely wrong again.

The maths are clear to me. Loss declared for 23/24 was 50 or so. Real loss. No spend in thr window for 24/25.

That's lfc.

50 to 80 mil. 50 is usual, 80 might.be down to Europe and expanded stadium revenues)

You.can then go take whatever we think will come in on the other end and figure it out from there.

To cover 6 first team players required to improve this club? Not a chance.

Not sure you can do that
Well you can do or say whatever you want within reason on a forum but - well your opening is correct - depending on your viewpoint it’s good or bad - that makes sense

but then you go on to say - if you take out x then it’s skewed - well yeah
If you take out - change or manipulate any of the facts it will skew the data

That doesn’t compute - in fact it’s almost how Arteta has been commenting.

it looks like the club are trying to stick to a plan - but as yet we don’t know what will happen in the eventuality of it going proper tits up (like 17th/18th) and how they will respond

it’s not that I don’t understand what you are saying I just think it’s a really closed view on what the club have been doing.

I could be wrong - it’s just how I see it

My view is utd have spend x. Nobody is buying their players for 100 mil.

We spent y but we got in like 144mil? For countinho so it actually enabled us to get some players we simply would not have got without it.

But we signed Coutinho for £8.5m.... We didn't find him behind the sofa.

Yes but again we had a budget and got coutinho andnsturrodge quite soon after wasting more than half the torres fee on Carroll.

144mil enabled vvd. We were lining him up in the summer and coutinho was meant to go then too. Both were delayed to January.

We could afford mane. That's one season

We could afford salah that's another season

We are a rich club but getting real world class players like vvd and alisson and a couple more good players like fabinho all in close order propelled us on and countinho enabled that.

My view today is lfc just lost one very good player but not world class and have retained two fading world class players.

This buys us time.

We need the players to build the team around.

Imo thats a striker for 5 years. That's two full backs to refresh that back line. That's a cm too.

If you are looking at what we have

Alisson 32
Konate 25
Diaz 28

All contract questions, there's work to he done there.

Then we have
Gravenberch 22
Szoboszlai 24
Macallister 26
Gakpo 26

Would love to write bradley there but can't right now.

If we added kerkez 21 and frimpong 24 and signed up konate then you've already 7 out of 11 before putting that striker in place.

Get the striker we can look forward for 5 years with and then the team is pretty secure so you can replace vvd and salah over the next seasons
