I will politely disagree
They were a warrior team and the fact the odds were against them - I think would have made them win

the Southampton team currently in the prem would have destroyed our 2008 squad

Zubamendi to Arsenal. Very strange one that - especially as Arsenal need a CF.

Rejected us to stay there and 6 months later happy to move. I’m assuming club won’t go back in a burnt his bridges, but if he’s a player the club think will
improve do you put your pride to one side?

Can’t see club wanting to go back for someone that rejected us 6 months ago though. Doesn’t look good and obviously didn’t have desire to play for us before.
 
Fulham beat them at home on 28th September 3024 0:1
Newcastle beat them at home on 10 November 2024 1:3
These are the only teams that went away with all the points at City ground in 2024/2025.
We too can do it !.

It's not a case of being an "FSG lover" - that's an absurdly polarising phrase. It's just trying to have a realistic and balanced view of the way they run the club rather than reflexively jumping on everything they do and crying "foul".

Utterly bizarre if they do buy him. They've loads of holding or DCM, why buy another?

Currently they are struggling for open play goals, well known they need a CF and now with Saka & Jesus out injured and Havertz proving to be Havertz, clear signs they'll have trouble scoring against solid teams (maybe not Spurs).

I'm sure Zubamendi is going to solve that. Perhaps they're planning to grab a corner goal and see out the game for a 1-0

13 league goals last season......its not like he's not scoring/assisting. Decent forward.
We were linked with him when he joined Dortmund iirc.

Point is - where is that money now? In our 'war chest'? Waiting for the right player with the right metrics and right profile? I don't buy it (and Hughes doesn't buy anyone either).

Jorginho and Partey out of contact in summer so makes sense to replace them. Frees rice to move forward alongside odegaard

But its not the most needed thing atm. They could wait till summer, seeing as he's not going anywhere else this window. They need a striker and that'll cost them in the winter window, not going to be able to afford both.

Unless they're going to give up on this season already and plan to unsettle Isak for the summer.
