Why is he being allowed do this unless fsg are directing it.

The correct term would be gaslighting the player. Stringing them along to keep the same wage and not give extra until absolutely necessary.

I wouldn't use the term gaslighting - that means to manipulate or deceive someone until they doubt their own memory or sanity.
I doubt that's what's happening - if anything it's just negotiating tactics with perhaps a bit of brinkmanship thrown in.
 
If Trent is off to Real at the end of the season, Bradley is his obvious replacement, but who do we have back up to Conor?

Robertson is coming to the end, and Tsimikas isn’t regarded as a permanent replacement, is it a case of buying a new left full back and still keeping Tsimikas, or letting both go and using a back up from the u21’s along with a new left back?

If they don’t consider Tsimikas good enough, I suspect they’ll sell him and recruit a player as a first teamer and allow Robbo to limit his appearances as his legs age.

…..but I do not know what ‘they’ think

Maybe Doak. Can't think of anyone else. We had a few LB's coming through, Chambers and Beck being two but I can't remember whether or not Slot's sold them. He seemed to have a little clear out of youngsters when he came in.

There is Ramsay who was loaned to Wigan I think. Played a couple games under Klopp in those brief appearances I thought he looked promising, then completely disappeared presume something went on in the background.
