I hope that we do strengthen in January,. We’ve been relatively lucky with injuries when you consider the number of games…..last year our wheels fell off in the run in, I’d hate that to happen again.

I have always felt that last season the wheels falling off was our own doing
The kids were playing well and in the zone
I have long since felt that the problem with injuries isn’t always the time the player is injured

players who can just drop back into a team following an injury are very few and far between (I do think Jota is one who can). So whenever player are coming back there is always a period of a few games where the player has to ease back in.

last season I felt we should have continued with the kids and filter the returnees back - it looked to me like we couldn’t wait to get them back in and ultimately it cost us the momentum the kids had been instrumental in building.

this was just how it felt and not based on any research or facts though <laugh>

We were conceding a ton of goals first last year…..it felt like every game. I agree that some players seemed rushed back though <ok>

The balance was never right.

The transition was trash.

The shape was biased to pushing up and winning it or then not bothering get back.

Right now slot demands people sprint back and we have a more solid shape moat of the time as well.

Remember when we played liecester last year and that Lad mcateer swanned right through thr middle with zero challenge and scored after 3 mins.

We were soft in the middle and certain players were not very busy running back shall we say.

This is FSG though. The fact that they didn't spend 'owt in July/August probably means that there's more money to go towards paying off the Anny Rd extension - money they were supposed to be directly funding themselves if you go by what both they and RBS told the high court in 2011 when that blert Hicks took them to court.

And relax...

indeed….only when we’ve sold big have we spent big. That’s why we absolutely must keep VvD, Salah and Trent….if we lose them all on free transfers in one hit, we’ll take an age to recover with our net spend.
