Three years ago I'd have bitten your hand off. He has undoubted quality, but he's never off the treatment table. This is deadline-day desperation. He's another Aquilani. I suppose the fee might be low (seems Juve want him off their books), but his wages? We've only just got Thiago off the wage bill, FFS. :emoticon-0112-wonde

He looked alright (but onlying alright) for Italy last summer.

You are right it is a throw the strategy out the door cheap filler panic buy

Problem is the wage won't be cheap

Does seem it’s a lot more likely now reading the reports.

for €15m that’s a pretty low risk gamble assuming the wages aren’t stupid.

Thiago was low risk, until he become a highly paid ornament. As MITO says, he was okay-ish at best for Italy back in June - deffo not the player he was 3 years ago in the 2020 Euros. Shades of Arthur all over these reports, and I don't mean the one with the round table. :emoticon-0138-think

Yeah, I think our Arthur's table was more rectangular.

Agree about the transfer. Have to hope we know what we're doing, but it seems a gamble.

We will see.

When people talk shaq and say it'll be fine I don't think they take the rose tinted glasses off.

3 seasons, started OK, mostly bench warming, second season close to disasterpus in terms of contribution, thrid season barely any better.

Same for thiago as people drool over the lovely football he could play. 4 seasons and a couple of 10 match runs in there to justify 200k a week for 4 years. Richarilson destroyed his knee imo.

Anyway, if we would like another just to carry and we get a barca match out of him for 15mil in fees and 24mil.in wages min?

About £13m and 80k a week wages. Pretty
much the Clarke money and carvahlo/clarkes wages combined for a 26 year old internarional who was the star player in a Italian winning euro team 3 years ago. One injury since but 9 goals in 33 games last year.

Seems a bit of a no brainer there.

That really ought to be a children's book series.

Don't know where you got £80k from, but that's not too bad if true. £13m is nothing. Hope it's only a 4-year contract though.

Big risk. as it shows, one mint player till he did his knee two years ago. I have no probs whatsoever with his quality (like Jota), but , considering Jota spends half the season on the table as well, then it's a big risk. Rumours (!) Gordon still wants to come, and as long as we're not selling Diaz to accommodate the deal then I know which player I'd prefer. All that said, if Chiesa comes he gets my full backing and support. And prayers. :emoticon-0165-muscl :emoticon-0108-speec

1 big injury and after that a reasonable amount of games. Wouldn’t say missing 11 games out of 50 is huge issue - especially as he wouldn’t necessary be first choice so also reduces the risk. Depends what those injuries are I guess, if it’s same thing then but more issue but I assume the medical team will have had plenty input

Salzburg in talks to sign Bajcetic on loan - not sure if any buy clause in there, I’d hope not.

Leverkusen in talks with loan to buy for Morton. Hope there’s a mandatory buy clause in there so don’t have same issue next season moving him on
