Yeah he wasn’t anywhere close to first team and getting too old for under 21s. Time to go make a career for himself - Pompey is decent level to be fair

From sky sports- 25m plus 5m in add ons is decent value. Can’t really complain - was prob 5th choice and wanted to be first teamed which wasn’t going to get. Hope he does well there along with carvahlo unless Leverkusen can stump up the cash



Brentford have agreed a deal in principle with Liverpool to sign Sepp van den Berg.
It is understood they have agreed to pay £25m plus £5m in add-ons for the centre-back.
The decision is now down to the player and the Dutchman is aware of interest from Bayer Leverkusen.
The German club are also willing to agree to this deal with Liverpool but need to sell one of their centre-backs first.
The Bundesliga champions have interest from other clubs in Edmond Tapsoba, Jonathan Tah and Odilon Kossounou.

Surely this means we won't be selling Joe unless we're willing to buy another CB before the window closes? (Spoiler - we're not)
 
Joe is 27 now and has had a very promising career blighted by injury. I wouldn't blame him for wanting a move but I'm pretty sure he wants to go somewhere where he can play, having missed out so much.
Can't see Chelsea being that place.

But he can retire there by just going and sitting down so it's up to him now to get a club to bid. Not negotiate his.move and then have us say no they won't pay our asking price.

If someone really wants him they have to pony up.

I also think in germneral a lot of fans either vastly over rate their own players or are over critical.

Palace fans think guehi is God's gift. He just looks like an accident waiting to happen to me.

He isn’t going to Chelsea. He’s too old for them 1. Plus no credible links and was quashed about a week or two ago.

chelses want a striker, Gomez is not that
