I'm probably an over zealous parent who can't help seeing things from that perspective where young players are involved. In the same way I don't like seeing young lads chasing money above career, I don't like seeing them getting encouragement one minute and then tossed aside the next. (Not saying that's exactly what's happening here.). None of them are guaranteed first team places, it's on them to earn it but I'm surprised that they feel rejected given how our production line has been operating. There's a problem there that needs sorting with more than a 'grow up' thrown at them.

Apart from anything else, I don't like seeing any negative news coming out of the club.

New management team, any 'promises' from the old management are no longer relevant.

Klopp liked to keep them around to train with the first team, perhaps that's not Slot's style. They need to learn they aren't first team players and can't expect first team game time, even in friendlies.

If Slot has looked at them in training and decided they aren't ready or they're not for him then unfortunately that is part of football.

I find their reaction very strange, it's not like they're being sidelined from the first team after being in the main squad for years. And the manager has only been in the job for a few months and working with the players for less, it'll take time for him to trust some of the junior players at the club.

So googled it and there’s one article on a random website saging that Clarke McConnell and Blair have posted a black and white photo with no actual comments about being upset.

Know there’s been talk of Clarke moving on. Would be a great career mode for him but he’s only one that’s had any real fiest team football. McConnell and Blair are no where near first team and seems odd if they’ve specifically been told they won’t be part of first team as can’t imagine they really thought they would be this year?

Or it has nothing to do with being upset about anything and it’s just a ‘trend’

I've seen nothing of this, but it sounds like it's being blown well out of proportion.
With little to go on, all I can ask is ignored by whom?
I'm pretty sure they won't be being ignored by the under 21 coaches - if they're talking about the first team squad then perhaps they've made the mistake of thinking they've "arrived" a little too prematurely.
Slot has had very little time to assess his first team squad with the season about to kick-off - I'd expect all of his focus is currently on being prepared for that, and I wouldn't expect him to have the time to hold hands with some younger lads to make them feel warm and fuzzy.
If they're good enough they'll be noticed and given their chance at some point - if not, then time to move on.

they should just be grateful i was so gentle with them .

Clarke fee agreed with Salzburg.

Shame, out of all of the youngsters that got game time towards end of season and in the cup he def looked like most ready but he’s fighting in a congested area. He’s competing against eliott jones szobo in that attacking midfield role.

Should be a great place for him to develop and eventually move to a larger team if he realises his potential.

It was the club's approach, not Klopp's. Any personnel that comes into the mix (like Klopp or Slot) have to fit our regime
I don't think it is necessarily the club's approach. Klopp changed how transfers were done with the final decision always being his. It wasn't like that before. Now we have Edwards and Hughes as Sporting Director, a position that we've never had before and transfer strategy seems to be a little different again.

No one at the club has the final decision but they all have the power to veto a deal; ie, they must all be agreement for a deal to go through. Exactly how it should be imo

I don't believe Klopp changed anything, I think he kicked up a fuss because he didn't like something and others left as a result

Sounds like a week or two ago he’s given his word that he wanted to join. Makes sense we therefore weren’t looking elsewhere.

How many times have transfers fallen through last minute. We might have thought it was a certainty, but you can never stop looking until it's signed.

At the same Time if you’ve agreed a deal, doesn’t look great to that player or agent if you’re going around looking at other players, speaking to agents etc.

Just look how it turned out with Lavia last year. All done and agreed with player, we go and start talking and looking at caicedo, lavia feels unwanted and pulls out the deal

We fannied about over a couple of mil and Southampton ended up getting 5 mil over their actual price.

It all went well for everyone.

We fancied about over zubimendi release as well and gave them time to turn him back to the dark side.

Looks like technically not signing him this year. It’s deferred to until next year and instead will go on loan from Valencia to Bournemouth (think it’s because you can’t sign someone and loan to another prem club in same window).

I assume also means any cost will go out of next years budget

Hmm dodgy.

We must have a massive loss in the accounts.
