That said... should be against rules of FIFA to own more than a tiny sliver of more than one club.
That would seem to can the off-and-on rumour that they're about to cut and run.
I have a feeling if FSG were about to sell it would mean that they had an offer from some crazy oil country because they're the only ones who would buy a club as expensive as ours in this economy. We wouldn't like that because we don't want to be another oil-club... but United fans would probably like that even less!

Rumours that they might be looking to get out because football isn't their game might have had some plausibility, but if they're looking to stay in the game it seems unlikely that they'd give up one of the most marketable "brands" in world football.Nope, just pointing out there is an alternative
Unless they were looking to just cash in, but like Milk say, who would buy us? Look how much trouble Man U have had trying to get someone in, and you're just as high a profile as we - apart from being pants for a few years now.
I think it's more likely they're trying to expand their empire, rather than just shunt it sideways.
I hope so anyway - they have their faults, but I can't see any better owners for a club our size out there.
I'd hate to be owned by an oil-state, or a madman like Boehly.
Obviously of the Outs Coutinho for £142M was the better sale... but controversy time; which of those ins was the "Best-deal"?

Salah obviously the bigger star and I expect would get most votes, but I bet there are some people on this forum that would pick Fabinho as having had the bigger impact despite not getting the same plaudits as Salah... and £8m for Robertson was a steal so some might pick him just for the value-for-money aspect.

this is a fundamental lack of understanding of the business model.
they don't need nor want to get out. exactly the same as the glaziers didn't want to sell to thebarabs for 100%
they want the asset to leverage borrow, aquire, rinse and repeat.
as thr asset appreciates their sole issue is not taking that massive profit as when thry do they have to pay the tax.
the more asset they have the bigger the portfolio. lfc is half their total portfolio. sell us and they are back in the regional leagues.

I wouldn't care as much if they bought a club in MLS as there is little conflict of interest there (although still could potentially give us an unfair advantage in transfer negotiations). Buy a club in Europe and there is conflict of interest. I imagine any conflict of interest would work IN our favour, but I still don't feel comfortable with it and hope they stick to buying clubs in entirely different sports.
No owner should own more than one team in the same sport IMO... it's just ethically wrong even if not legally wrong.

The worry is 2 of those outs were signed by the guy that’s about to become our new sporting director!
Solanke has proved to be a good signing. Ibe had issues with depression so not really fair to judge him.

3 1/2 years in the prem at Bournemouth and scored 23 goals in 102 appearances. Wouldn’t say he’s proven to be a good signing for the money they paid. Taken him 5 years and a relegation to find half decent form. Not sure liverpool can make a record signing and wait 5 years for them to come half decent.
