I'm unsure, when vvd got injured and Joe came in, I thought he looked ace, made me think, oh this might not be as bad as I thought.

Then Joe got injured, unfortunately as usual.

If he could stay fit enough to actually play an active role for a concerted period of time, I still think he could be a player

He looked good but was that because we expected him to flop without VVD?

I like Gomez and I've always wanted him to do well but injuries have taken their toll; he's never had as great football mind but his pace used to make up for it. He's not as quick anymore.

He also had prime Hendo, Wijnaldum (?) and Fabinho around him at the time to protect him.

city will win it in a canter.

arsenal wont have it as good this year

utd and Newcastle are not great at all.

spurs are wild card but equally unknown.

if I were a harsh person I'd say 3rd is the absolutely minimum acceptable.

really 4th and europa imo would be great. I cannot do the post transfer window depression thread until Saudi window closes.

It would be nice to be in the title race and win a cup. If we did that and then strengthened the defence by end of next summer transfer window, I think we could go and maybe win the league.

I appreciate there are a lot of unknowns at the moment but on paper, there is no reason why we couldn’t.

Yes that's right. The PL would have qualified for the new format 5 out of the last 6 seasons and 7 out of the past 11, so there's a good chance.

just put them in their place by saying no.

most are talking like we can't afford not to take it. I'm pretty damned sure last may nobody thought we'd get **** all for salah by the end of his contract

we are OK to say no and then do a deal some other time for far less.

these shister "clubs" that are actually nothing like an independent league or competitive situation have to learn sometime that they cannot have everything they want.

they will be back for every decent player we have to help their **** sportswashing club here.
