As much as we all love Salah and what he has achieved, if the Saudi’s offer £200m then let him go. If he didn’t want to go that different, but it appears he would say yes if FSG accepted the offer. Not that I want him to go, but we have other priorities that are more imminent to address, namely our defensive deficiencies. We’ve had great players at this club that left and needed to be replaced, and Salah would be no different.
You're right, but we won't get anywhere with that now until January at the earliest unless there's some secret dealing going on. I'd rather keep the fire-power and just hope to win that way. Diminishing our attacking potential and not improving the defence is a no-win situation.

Anyways, according to some on here FSG would just spend the money on beer and dirty women anyway, and we'd get a tenner, so I'm not sure why everyone is having a little wee over the prospect of selling him for £200m.

Liverpool: Sell Salah for £200m on deadline day.

Social media: Liverpool's net spend is less than Torquay United's! FSG out!

Hudson-Odoi to Forrest, £3m going up to £8m

Just to think 3 years ago Bayern offered £30m and Chelsea bribed him with a big contract.

yup. utter waste.

near enough waste of career. chelsea massive waste of money. fans money.

in the end they will just buy and sell and play the game until the money really runs out and they go bust or they are stopped dead in tracks by some authority handing down transfer ban or competition explusion

Palhinha off but gravenberch not dependant in it apparently so still going ahead

When this window closes, I hope that we start tracking CB's for next summer.
We'll need to replace Matip
VvD is looking like he's on the downward slide and Konate is injury prone. I would also hope that Gomez uses the Euros next summer to get back into form.

I also hope that we watch Fati's loan to Brighton, if he can capture anything of before his injuries, maybe a replacement for Salah.

In the middle of all of this have we lost sight of just how ridiculous a sum of £2oom is for the services of a footballer?
Not to mention the wages he'd be getting.
The world is mad.

It is a ridiculous amount but equally, football is about winning football matches and selling Salah now with no chance of bringing anyone in will be risky.

Personally, I'd sell him. It's too big an offer to return down for a 31yr old, plus I expected him to leave this summer anyway. I'd play Diaz on the right and Nunez left.

Saudi League is a young league, but they are biting more they can chew. Under normal going concern principles I will not be surprised if some clubs go into administration in the near future,

Well this is the point. If it's just the money then yes, it's not even a discussion, but if it seriously affects our chances of success for the season then to me it's a different matter. £200m in the bank won't score goals on the pitch. (It might get a couple I suppose if we stacked it up in the penalty area - a bit like Lukaku).
To your second point. If we'd planned for it earlier in the window and had a system change with a new signing or two ok, but throwing your plan for the season out of the window because you can't turn down an obscene amount of money doesn't seem right to me.
Third point. I don't want to see Nunez too far out wide, I'd like to give him a chance down the middle (ish).
Tbh we've still not found his best position, so a bit of experimentation would be good.

It's not pushing him out wide imo, he's better in that position
