Realistically, who’s out there that can develop into what we will lose with salah?

Salah is in decline, its obvious to see. We might as well bite the bullet and take the cash while we can.

As for who can develop to replace salah?

b) mane declining rapidly. offered.new deal. we dodged a bullet there
c) firmino deline and become injury prone

salah is on the decline part of his career. its patently obvious he cannot press and his pace is no longer there. if someone offers a real fee to us even if it's blood cash then we have to take it.

we have genuinely got a few good players in now. szoboszlai will be huge for us. diaz is finally getting to show his stuff. there's a few kids there

200mil will only buy 2 to 3 players now. but the Saudi pif scum bidding to disrupt our game with their own club cannot offer 60 or 80mil and think they can get anyone in their market.

Realistically did you ever imagine Salah would develope into the player he did?
There could be a youngish player being wasted by the club he's at now who, with the right system/training could be just as good.
You either trust Klopp/the transfer people or you don't.

That said, his game is partially based on speed, so he's not going to be able to keep up at his level into his sixties like Milner is... a harder decline is just around the corner- impossible to know if this year, next year, or he still has a few years left.

Let’s not be silly though, Milners physical level didn’t drop but his match sharpness and technical ability fell off a cliff. Salahs technical abilities still there. He’s only 31 and keeps himself in brilliant shape.

Yes he may not be quite as quick but give him a chance on goal and still our best goal scorer.

He had a poor year last year in a bad side and got 31 goal involvements in 38 games. His decline is still better than any of our other players up top.

If we had a really settled side, had a solid year last year and hadn’t just lost the core of our senior leadership group and whole midfield bar thisgo then yeah maybe would be a good time to got a bulk load of money to go big on a new wide player or CB.

but given our current state, how longs left in the window, You sell him and left with no actual right winger and 4 forwards, diaz who has just come back from big injury. Nunez who hasn’t quite hit ground running yet. Jota who was out for all of last season. And gakpo who been here 6 months.

If we don’t have enough to score with Gakpo Nunez Diaz Doak Szboz Macallister then we are in a situation

mid we get a defensive player who stops us conceding 10-15 more goals we probably only need a 10-15 goal person coming in ?

if Salah goes other players will step up
If not and we have banked 160mil Klopp can have another season out the CL to build with probs another 100mil next summer

I would take 175-200mill
