I know some dont agree, but I'm absolutely sick off fsg.

Tell me how you can spend 300mil end up with 5billion worth of asset and not be lambasted. They've done noubt for this club. They got lucky with klopp, if and when klopp goes we are in serious ****.

When has he ever refreshed a team to go again?
Don't blame City (or Pep) for being better than you <laugh>
He’s doing it at the moment. Diaz, Nunéz, Gapko up front with Mané and Bobby gone.

MacAllister and Szoboszlai in midfield- Henderson and Fabinho gone - still need 2 more in midfield, only 1 if Lavia comes

Defence is where the urgency to replace will come

The asset it only worth anything when you sell it (if you have a buyer for that price). FSG have made nothing yet and i have no idea if they have put more in for purchases.

I'm happy to chat to you Diego as long as you don't act the dick.

Pep has spent silly amounts of money to build his team of world beaters. Which is fine. I really don't mind. But doing the same off the back of the sale of one player takes much more knowledge, skill and tactical know how.

Pep may well be as good as klopp with ltd resources, but we will never know. He only takes jobs that he can pick and choose who he wants.

So this season will be indicative of a great re-build than?

To say FSG have done nothing for this club is a ridiculous statement.

They've not put a penny into the club. They've loaned money for upgrades to facilities.

I'm just going off reported value for buying price.

OK.

I do actually agree with you on Peps spendings when it comes to full backs but don't pretend Klopp doesn't spend when he broke records for keeper and center back.

The money for virgil and Allison was from the couts money.

If we'd not sold him, we'd have not got them.

It's the difference, we need to (as much as I hate it, and really don't understand it) sell to buy.

Where as pep can buy a 50 mil player, in 6 months decide he's not the right one and go out and buy another 50 mil player

What have they done

Gave Klopp the money when required ( but still should have done a lot more) to build a team that has reached 3 champions league finals, won the Premier League, 2 premier league runners up by a point, FA cup, League Cup wins.

What money have they gave him?

Oh i know that (pretty sure Pep sells the dudds to get some money back) but that happens at every club.

Pep does sell the duds, city do very well out of it.

But its similar to Chelsea.

They splurged on a load of kids, 5 years later, the kids started to be sold and suddenly Chelsea where self sufficient.

Its like saying my grandad gave me a million pounds 12 months ago but I've not asked him fir a penny since and pretending your a self made man.

It really isn't, if you buy a kid and give him some game time then sell him on it can only be good.
For one you have given him a chance and for two a smaller club may benefit from it.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree.

But at one point Chelsea had just under a million players out on loan (that may be a slight exaggeration). It was player farming, nothing to do with development, or what was best for the player, it was all about cooking the books.

Really is panic time now, were going into an away game with Chelsea without a DM. We've known Fabinho was leaving for a while and not done enough to secure a replacement. What's going on there?

Yep spot on and had this discussion loads
I do think FSG have made us sustainable

and what we had before them ….
They did get lucky with Klopp or it was good management selection - we won’t know till he leaves - which i too worry about

Klopp and Pep are two totally different managers and the argument of - well klopp spent big on Ali and VVd really grates because everyone forgets or ignores he sold Couts to do it (tbh for me that was the lucky bit as I don’t think we would have bought both or even one of them had that sale not been made).

That’s why net spend comes from LFC fans because many of the other Prem teams and some champ seem to just buy whoever they want

pep May not have spent the record on a GL or Def or Mid or CF but for me that’s not where the difference is
The difference is him bringing on 50-60 mil proven players from the bench and the reserve squad - while most other clubs have a limit they don’t

it doesn’t bother me that much it just means they don’t have to be as patient as other teams with the player
Spend 85mil on a player and not working
No prob sell him for 50 but another for 60 and see if it works - goes down as being ruthless when in actual fact it’s just the ability to make a mistake in purchasing

we are a club that has to utilise our mistakes

I said it, but we (the club) are too rigid and mono-thinking about our transfers.
It is: This player or nobody
And: We are trying to buy this player and nobody else at the moment

We never seem to be working on more than one deal at once, which means when they drag out we are left scrabbling for any others.
And I know Henderson and Fabinho weren't planned but you've got to be ready to adapt and change to the new circumstances.
