Not doubting his ability and potential, but we've already had our share of injury prone midfielders. I don't want to second guess Klopp and the team but I don't think the price is worth the risk. Southampton rate him highly... Fans on here seem to too (not sure how many of you have watched him enough)... But if the price gets any higher we should look elsewhere.

£50m for someone who will sit on the recovery bench a lot is not a good investment.

he is 19. I see one hamstring injury last season.

Sometime you may have to gamble to achieve your goals, Brighton gambled signing Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister it worked.
We took a risk of signing Arthur Melo, it was a disaster. Most things in life are risky.

He only joined them last Summer and chelsea bid 50m in August ? Something abit off about this sauce...must be ketchup.

Guy signed a new contract with a massive wage increase in January. Only himself to blame.

Brighton want 100m. Chelsea bought fernandez after half a season with benfica and a half decent World Cup for 105m.


Caicedo is prem proven for 18 months had a good World Cup and is younger.

They don’t need to sell as bank balance is nice and healthy from sales of white Cucurella Trossard maupay Bissouma and Mac over the last 2/3 years.

he signed for 60k/week and has priced himself out of 200k 6 months later

Pretty sure he’ll go. Chelsea will prob come back and make a package deal up to around 90/95m and be done. You don’t bid 80m for someone that you then decide don’t need.
 
so right now we only have paper talk to confirm any bid at all went in for lavia and only paper talk to confirm the second bid?

And only paper confirm cheslea will buy him?

Really I'd wonder whats really going on and what is the story with fabinho and is this holding it all up?
 
Fernandez and Caicedo could be a very good pairing for a decade, good platform to build on but we all know Chelsea will inevitably **** them off within two years.

caicedo is already fernandez's replacement.

the same way they bought Badiashile to replace koulibaly in the same windo they bought koulibaly.

given they are two totally different players not really. Caicedo is kante’s replacement as the defensive tackler. Fenrnandez is more the get on the ball and pass type.

Best comparison would be a mascherano and Alonso type partnership as both players are similar.

mean while it seems to be taking a month to conduct a simple sale that is a days task for clubs on deadline day for us.
