SuperHendo.
he's the garry neville of footballers.
didn't gsrry neville go as commentator to Qatar and single handedly end oppression by speaking truth
or was that all waffle by a despicable hypocrite who just took the money and shut up?
SuperHendo.
fsg have nothing on Robert Langdon
I'm going to reveal now how fsg plan to convince lfc fans they don't need any .ore players.
First trent is played in midfield in preseason with a drip drip drip of stories about how awesome he is.
second the cameras and videos of conor Bradley will start, soon to be followed by articles in the friendly websites and athletic (cheap to pay for).
by the time lfc are in singapore Bradley is the next god of football and trent is the ultimate no 6 according to some.
meantime the hard sell of youth will begin. Jones and Elliott return early to compete with clark for the other midfield berths.
finally fsg will remind everyone of the 100million of brand new talent that macallister and Szoboszlai represent.
they will just put a thaigo cherry on top of this and start rolling out videos of the exciting new anfield.
by the kick off of the the season lfc will have the best established midfield ever and nobody will notice the 50mil net spend and fact anfield road end was paid for by the club itself.
fsg will have pulled it off again, the club will be worth 5bil not 4 and they will declared the stadium totally finished and all their doing despite the club paying every ****ing penny itself.
and you know we will all be happy cos we'll, klopp and anfield.

you must be elated! £50m of net spend is double the norm![]()

But he's had multiple years (over ten years) of earning a high salary. He would have been mint as it is.He's probably going to need to pay for special security (at least while he is still famous). He will probably have several homes which each cost several million. Pay people to do his lawn and weed his flower beds, maybe pay people to clean his houses. Expensive vacations, trips to his charity destinations, etc. Oh yeah, and I'm sure some will go to charity.
You or I could live at our lifestyle levels for well under £500k per year and live off that interest... He has been living a much more luxurious lifestyle and is accustomed to it.
Eating out at a fancy restaurant with your friends and family who all expect you to catch the bill and buy drinks could easily run thousands at a time. His dining expenses alone will probably be more than you or I make in a year.
Yes all this is frivolous luxury that he doesn't "need", most people go without... but if you're used to that and see having to give it up in "retirement" it might be tough to swallow....that £500k per year wouldn't cover it as easily as £5 mill a year. £500k per year only looks "unlimited" because you don't have that much money to know how to waste it.
With all the talk about the morality of this, there doesn't seem to be much discussion about the practicality.
Why are the Saudis even paying so much (assuming the reports are anywhere near the truth)?
I'm no Hendo hater - he's been an integral part of our success - but the guy is showing clear signs of rapid decline now.
If SA want to snatch football from under our noses they should surely be going for younger players with several years left at their peak.
but they spent £100m prior to any indication about Fab which indicated there isstill money availableno it's not.
its exactly the norm. the last 3 years has been right on that.
but they spent £100m prior to any indication about Fab which indicated there is still money available
Having the big names increases the profile, same as with LIV. They went for big names, past their best.
Its about making as much noise and gaining as much attention as possible. The football is secondary.
if Henderson and Fab go there has to be at least 1 more midfielder as Bajcetic , rightly imo ,by the looks of it will at most be used very sparingly in the first half of the season and like you i'm not convinced by Elliott as RM though with the way we will be using TAA he might be more suited as would then be pushed higher and possibly wider .yes exactly.
The question (which is devil's advocate) is do they do what my post suggests over the next 6 weeks to try convince us all is well or do they spend it.
I like playing both sides of the argument.

I also think we need defensive cover .
PS don't forget Carvalho was also used a MF cover last season and he is also absent .
they bloody well better beIt’s clear that we are looking for at least one more midfielder; we just don’t know who’s most likely!

I wasn't going to reply to this because I've made my feelings know on the matter and don't need to keep reiterating but the bolded bit got my attention. This is where your statement draws a false equivalence. The West may well have done worse - past tense - Saudi is doing it currently. Now the second false equivalence is - how many football teams did the governments of the Western countries who were doing these things that were "far worse" own and run?I am actually not fussed
I have my views he has his
I was more bothered about him being sold
One of the ones that likes him
I have stayed out of the righteous argument
I didn’t watch the World Cup
I don’t blame Ronaldo or anyone for going
I think western culture has done way worse
I am happy in my skin and that’s all I can be
Not going to judge others
I am no saint myself
These kind of discussions becoming more and more frequent
if I don’t like something I have a choice
We all do - atm
Wish the ESL had been successful then all the greedy stuff could have gone to another place for a few years till the next batch get greedy

Graham Souness:
“I think with him (Henderson), as an ally of the LGBTQ+ community and a supporter of Rainbow Laces – and then he ends up going to Saudi, I think without a doubt that will damage his legacy."
Steve Mcmanaman:
“I believe Jordan will have to think about it, of course he will," said McManaman of Henderson's LGBTQ+ links. "He’s also a permanent fixture in the England team, so I presume he will have to give that up if he moves to Saudi Arabia. I think his chances of getting into England’s Euro 2024 squad are finished if he moves to Saudi Arabia. He won’t get into the England team.
"That’s another scenario he needs to think about and he’s also going to have to consider what the living conditions are going to be like for his family as well, which is a big issue really.
"Will he take his wife out there? Will he take his children out there? If you’re not going to do that and you go out there for two or three years, then it’s going to be an even tougher decision, so I’m sure there are many different factors weighing on his mind regarding whether he should go or not.
“It’s a big move and that’s not just regarding the money, it’s about everything else. If I was in his position, my principles would be that you can’t necessarily take your family over there, they’d probably have to live elsewhere, so you’d effectively be living there on your own.”
