Reality: We're not getting 95 points next season. Too soon to be getting that many points after reassembling the midfield. If I remember correctly: In my life time no team has won the league from outside the top four in the previous season except Leicester... and that was a really weird league. I think when I looked it up, '77 was the last year it happened before them. We can't go out expecting to win- or at least can't get angry when we don't win the league.

no but its the target anyone has to aim for.

CIty were allowed to have a nice rest to win the treble by arsenal. they dropped 4 points at end of season and could have been on 93 as a result.

its the inevitable target. how do we get 95 points?

you do it by beating just about every bottom half side home and away first. That requires goal threat. (10x2x3= 60 points)

you then have to get 35 points from 54 against the top half (other 9 teams) theres 27 home point sup for grabs so call that really say 23, you need 4 or 5 away wins as well. to do that you not only need goal threat you also need a really good defence.

we conceded 47 goals last season in 38 games. that 14 more than newcastle and city. we scored 75goals but that total has extremes in it. 9, 7, 6, a couple of 4 goal hauls. the real total is probably much lower per game if those outliers are flattened off.

I think we need more consistent goal threat, especially against sides sitting off not wanting to engage and we especially need to shut the door at the back agasint top half sides. We absolutely throw goals in against the other top half sides.

Forwards- no injures. ok lets go and believe.
Midifeld - torn apart - need to rework
defence? no changes.. you cannot ask anyone to believe the defence will magically improve when the line in front is totally changed as well.

I think 75 points is a good realistic target to go for with the talent we do have (and its is considerable) but we really should be winning that Europa league. absolutely no excuse to not bring that home.
