is it 20% of total or profit? Any contract writer worth their salt would protect their initial capital. Just sayin’

Yeah 20% of any profit. Also have buy back of £40m hence saints value at him at around 48m (round to £50m) as they’d get whole £40m if city brought him for that.

Don't want to open a can of worms but a quote I read recently from Yaya Toure said that 'Guardiola doesn't like African players'. Reading between the lines I think he meant a certain ethnicity rather than nationality. It made me go and look at the city squad.

I think yaya has a few issues with pep over tactics and his time at Barca etc.

it's certainly nothing to do with ethnicity.

maybe he has a thing about acon. who knows.

but if we look at the city squad there players from various part and ethnicity has nothing to do with it imo.

there's history with Mr toure

I don't think Pep Guardiola is a racist in any sense, if a player is good is good.

£10.5m that could rise to £14m. 20% sell-on clause and the right to match any bid that is accepted from another club.

so if City got 20% of sell on fee of £40m, saints would sit pretty with £32m and worst case £18m profit.

I’d be bidding at £30m (£6m to City, £24m to Saints and a clear £10m profit). The £40m is not relative as if City wanted him back, they’d have him back.

remember all the laid talk is from the south coast is is what they want everyone to hear

the price is set high at 50mil and Liverpool with get him.if you don't bid.

there's very little on our side backing it bar joyce hedging his bets.

There was something about a birthday cake I seem to remember. <laugh>

they are all following in on thuram.

a lot of pundits are covering their bases on lavia like the above as the only source is form the south coast not LFC. It speaks volumes that ornstein hasn't said anything and Joyce is only willing to go as far as saying we are thinking about it

Lavia is NOT for this season. he is an option to try and get value on, if value can be had as in the end you write an 8 midfielder list right now before getting to who is out the door.

Szoboszlai
Macallister
Fabinho
Henderson
Thaigo
Bajceitc
Jones
Elliott
9. morton.....

it really looks to me like our preseason day 1 team is firm up front, midfield and in goal and we really ought to start thinking about the back line as fans as the next arrival.

if we can tease Southampton with 40mil max (based on the buy back clause that's the max they get) then we should be seeing a move later on. If someone else stumps the 50 I think we are also fine to walk away and look elsewhere.

all this makes me think we are holding the foreign slot open.

NOBODY ****ING SAY MBAPPE
I've got a feeling we're in for Mbappe
