Klopp talking up Bradley who has been on loan at Bolton. Done very well there but obviously a big step up to the prem from league 1. Seems another like TAA and Neco Williams who is better going forward than defensively though

he's increasing the value.

lfc have already bought his replacement and tried other kids there

Do you reckon any of the other clubs fall for it if it’s such an obvious tactic ?
As you say
Replacement bought and other options - but you have to wonder why anyone would fall for it if people on an internet forum can see what’s going on.
Does make me chuckle <laugh>

we paid nothing for him. the name is in the media, he plays internationals for NI.

a good championship loan and he's worth as much as nico Williams was.

in the end they all know what the score is and the types of clubs who are interested will be the types that want to hear that we are going to get him fit and ready and hand him over to start for their pissy club as another bargain for them.

I'm sure there are other mid to lower table club already watching and waiting to see if they can get him and if he can make that step up.

it's all a game.

again this is why Brighton are gamblers as they jump the queue and buy risks like ferguson who might be great at young ages and throw them out in loan or to fill a slot for them and see what happens.

it's this simple. suited connectors are a 33% hit in poker. you pay to see the flop bit you don't go all in do you, they are not pocket aces.

Brighton gamble on cards that might hit. lfc wait for a big pocket pair.

It's not a tactic, it's a production line approach.

We sign youngsters, offer them better facilities and coaches making them into better players. Better players have a higher value.

Also, the more proven they are the less a risk they become and their value increases too so we loan them out to get game time and effectively put them in the shop window.

These players aren't good enough for our first team (the initial hope is they will be) but they are good enough for other teams somewhere so will always have value to someone.

Everything you say here is correct, but I think @Bumps is referring to the media manipulation game rather than the production line process.
"This young player is coming on really well, we'll be bringing him into the first team squad, he's a very important player for our futur... what - you'll give us £15m for him? Done." isn't a tactic that will work too often before people see it coming.
Also, doesn't really seem a Klopp thing somehow.
I'm commenting on the general process btw, not the Conor Bradley specifics.

the only thing I'd disagree is if we ever really think some will ever be good enough.

I think with most they are done to sell.

some players are thrown in preseason, some are thrown in cups. it's all getting the name out there in terms of debut and oh look what you might get.

almost none get a loan without a new contract to protect us as well.

look at musialowski. there's some lads who have the hots for this kid big time but he's never given a sniff, he's been injured and probably is looking at very shortly running out of contract. he need to grow up but what will the club do with him?

but it does work. it works everywhere.

it works because the players have profile, ut works cos greedy agents get cuts on both ends of the deal and other works because, most importantly of all, the players prove themselves at senior levels in certain leagues.

Once we get a Leighton Clarkson we know dull well he is never ever paying for us cos physically he's not up to the prem. we got a good loan in but then we had a disaster off blackburn and had to got to Aberdeen to recover his value. he is now probably worth 3 or 4 million to us.

Tyler morton is now worth 10-15mil as he did succeed.

quansah has probably made himself quite an asset, he never got a sniff off klopp and is loaned to joey Barton of all people in league 1. even with red card he's now on the scene and radar for a number of clubs.
probably already worth 5mil.

bajcetic is probably an exception rather than the aim.

when we have brewster as an example or solanke, we'll we know clubs will punt.

Well, you've offered a number of things that can improve a player's worth - all of them valid.
I might be wrong, but I felt that @Bumps was referring specifically to a club talking up one of their own players and others falling for it. In isolation, it seems a hopelessly transparent ploy.

I think you're forgetting that posters on an internet forum are far more knowledgable than mere managers, scouts, Directors of Football etc. :)

I don't think it is as you simply have to make sure there's people aware of what's up for grabs

every championship club is now aware that conor Bradley will be up for grabs on loan, "check him out in our preseason folks"

this entire page is built on transfer rumours and media attention on players started from spurious places and sources.

Having klopp give a glowing appraisal of Bradley does his value no harm.

I think every player is signed with the hope they'll be good enough. It's impossible to tell with eight, nine, ten, etc year olds. There are far too many being factors.

we have a lot of database files on a lot of players and we do even pick up free transfers off clubs letting kids go on the off chance we might flip them.

Phillips was actually one and there was a couple from arsenal that didn't work out.

minamino as well. I think the moneyball game of buy and add value comes into it

Yeah that’s exactly what I was getting at
I take it you have some sort of enigma device at home <laugh>
