how many games have we seen where the opponents sit in and catch us. we are leaving exactly the same type of gaps with konate having to cover 40 yards of space.

we played an awful Leeds side who hit the ball of trent to allow us break and then left masses of gaps.

we played a dog rough forest side who kept grabbing at set peice not marking but who just shuffled about for a half without conceding a chance. they then roughed us up for throws as their sole weapon.

neither of these two results should be lauded. they are welcome yes but should be won week in week out with our side.

as I said we are going to get absolutely torn apart playing this very soon.

it's against every common sense of football for a right full to wander 20 towards out of position to stand at 6 while the rcm runs 20 yards to inside right forward and expect the right cb to clean everything up.

there's absolutely zero chance of any of them recovering if the ball gets turned over quickly.

the absolute basic action of a 6 ought to be to cover your cb if they stride forward or come.out marking a forward.

trent stood watching or worse ran forward as konate carried the ball yesterday.

we will be absolutely cut asunder playing this. we wouldn't try this against real madrid imo so why try it against West ham or spurs.

If we are looking to implement a new system, I'd much rather try it out against West ham or spurs than Madrid.

Funny but going back to the early days.

If you said, we'll what where going to do is have the right back and the left back pushed right up, all the midfielders pressing and we are going to leave vvvd and matip all alone to clear up the long balls you'd think it was suicide, yet it worked.

This will take time.

Henderson and who ever plays left mid long term ( it won't be jones) will need to improve to make it work.

But the goals we've conceded havnt been down to the change, but God forbid we are actually scoring some now.

I'm happy to discuss your opinion, offer a counter point. The reasons I believe your wrong.

Unfortunately your argument boils down to I'm right your wrong. Then calling me a twat.

I've pointed out that you think trent is poor defensively but you think he's best as a defender, which makes no sense.

Like I said earlier, I'm happy you've got an opposing opinion, it's the fun of football.

But you've spat your dummy out.

So he gets beaten very easily, can't stop a cross and has no pace and you think right back is his best position.

**** me

Yeah, your counter opinion was clear for all to see <doh> You answered in the same twatish manner to Mito.

I may well be wrong about Trent playing in midfield, I hope I am.

I am not wrong about you. You’re massive a twat. <laugh>

You’re saying the job of a 6 is to drop in. Think it’s stupid putting numbers to role. Means **** all. He’s number 66 so what is the position and role of number 66? Fabinho is number 3?

Fabinho is the defensive midfielder, if anyone is covering then it’s him. Getting TAA more infield is to impact the attacking play, outnumber them when we have the ball in the middle and create a 4 man central midfield.

oh God. think about it ffs.

seriously what formation were you seeing yesterday where were the gaps you saw?

can you imagine fabinho running 20 yards across the pitch to get beside vvd as konate decides **** it there's no pass on I'll have to carry it up

no. your midfielder aka trent has got to fill that gap. he's playing right side of two midfielders stood there but you want to absolve him.of absolutely everything.

seriously. whatever else about being asked to do whatever, it's not his fault if there's a massive gap down the right side but if you don't do the basics form where you are asked to stand you are badly at fault.

Oh dear. If you can't be civil young man, you've no place on a public forum I'm afraid.

I'm a twat? While your throwing insults about because you havnt won the argument. I feel sorry for your family.

I'll hold this for the West ham game and see what they do against this formation

I wasn’t arguing. Nor were you, clearly. Just stating what you are. Can’t get banned for that, surely <whistle>

I agree, JK knows what he needs to do but it should not stop anyone having an opinion on a certain player in a certain position on a football forum though, should it?
No it shouldn’t
Not sure how I said that
Sorry
I was just commenting that I think. There has been a lot of discussion about Trent in particular
I am not really one to call players
I never have been
They have achieved a level way beyond that of myself
However on the issue - whether Trent is playing well or bad or not - I was simply saying Klopp must be happy with him otherwise he would be out the squad

then on a new system I was just observing that a number of people on the forum have stated that klopp needs to try something different and then he gets a few pelters for doing it

They were merely the musings of an old man <laugh>
Or my two pence worth if you will on the forum <cheers>

defo not saying I am right and others are wrong
I haven’t got a clue
But I do that Klopp - I am disappointed when we don’t win
I really don’t like it when it’s to Utd cause I get it large at work
But I have made my points on here as to why I think this season has happened
I predicted 5th - but I expect more next season from us
Largely because of the faith I have in Klopp:emoticon-0115-inlov

The whole point of the formation is to get TAA into middle to offer an attacking threat. Why would you then ask a guy who everyone is saying can’t defend to drop into cb ffs <doh>

trying to score goal, make complete sense to ask your most creative player to drop back into cb when on the ball and going forward. glad you’re not in charge, would be playing with back 7 when we have the ball

Bloody hell.

I've twice said I welcome your opinion.

It's the fun of football, the disagreement, the conversations about position, tactics and personal

You've called me twat twice.

See the the difference in stance.

Well you edited one post, after your initial dismissive comment, didn’t you? Not once did you initially mention anything to do with football tactics - in fact the way you responded didn’t seem like you were having fun at all. But ok, let’s talk tactics. Feel free to go back to my original post (or the follow up one) and critique it properly. <ok>

No need to say sorry mate, that wasn’t aimed at you <ok>

I believe I've already replied to your post about trent at wing back and at right back.

I did edit the first post. I could already see you where getting a bit angry and hoped to head off the ensuing unpleasantness.

I think that it’s clear that we all believe that Trent offers something on the ball with his wand like right foot, vision and range of passing. The only thing that most are disagreeing on (I think) is his defensive frailty and off the ball weaknesses - some arguing that his strengths outweigh his weaknesses and even that his weaknesses are more exposed due to our tactics, others (like me) worry about his defending from midfield.

reality is that the team that he will play in next season will be different regardless of his position. So we are all going to have to wait and see <ok>

Mate, just go back and see how you initially responded to my post and repeated it again on Mito’s post. So rude and dismissive and then have the audacity to claim that you welcome debate and it’s fun. Then you’re shocked when people think you’re an idiot. Why not offer your perspective on your initial reaction? I can tell you why but you’ve probably guessed what I’m going to say <whistle>

Is that where you said trent couldn't defend, couldn't stop a cross but his best position was right back?

Sorry **** me was a quick summation of my disbelief at an absolutely idiotic statement.

I may be twat mate, but I don't spout absolute drivel.

Take care.

And there you have it. I didn’t say that but hey, why let the truth get in the way of being a twat <ok>

So the clamour for Trent to play in the midfield increases.

I’ve rarely wanted to be more wrong but the midfield creates, yes….so a big tick there…but it also covers, defends, breaks play up…..while not useless, this is his weakness…he struggles to stop a cross coming in and gets beaten way too often and doesn’t have the pace to recover.

there, I’ve said it. Putting Trent permanently in midfield scares the crap out of me.

like I said, I hope that I’m very, very wrong.

So this isn't you then?

Again, I may be a twat, but I don't post drivel, then forget I've posted it.<laugh>
