tbh 90% of the youths are never ever ever going to be good enough.
it's the sad truth.
you just don't really get a "class of ****ing whatever" and even that bag of **** were not all from the same academy year either.
our youths are a mix of a lot of buys from other countries that can't be repeated due to new rules, a few signings from English academies and a some locals.
if i were asked to male a short list I think it'd be the same as quite a few would say
Davies gk
quansah cb
Clark cm/10 (newcastle)
Gordon rw (derby)
doak rw (celtic)
there are about 10 others who have talent to be league pro footballers and lots.more that need to massively develop.
our issue is we seem to constantly make the same type of players.
thin, weedy, passers. most of the time I see an lfc player they can ping a pass like trent but are lightweight and don't have the pace.
some lads stand out physically or have the pace but generally the local lads we bring through don't.
there's no strikers that will make it.
the full backs and a lot of cms just won't make it.
it's the step up to proper seniors where the physicality just kills them.
we have so many "unlucky" youths who've had bad injuries as well. the standard of reffing at the lower levels is abysmal and we promote kids up to play 3-5 years above their age group and they get kicked about.
