Anyone who has abused the system as it stands will benefit

Chelsea are the ones people have noticed (or Chelsea are the only ones who noticed the the loophole, lawyers reading the fine print)

Thats why Uefa want to change the rules, cause they've only just noticed that Clubs can abuse the loophole.

But it does mean that a club is tied to paying that player over the long contract and of course not every player will work out.
Or the sell at what would probably be a lower fee.

to be honest, I can see this ending in court. Can’t see how UEFA can stop clubs amortising cost over the length of contracts and dictating length of contracts is against European law. So…..

It’s not dictating length of contract. Can still give contracts of 8 years, but they’re saying for ffp purposes can only spread the cost over max of 5.

That could be applied to virtually any actions any club takes but doesn't stop us criticising them ! If we used that as an excuse/ reason then we shouldn't criticise any club or player when they put in a poor performance.

What if we highlighted targets but it just didn't materialise for whatever reason?

I've repeatedly said, I'd rather go without if we can't get the player we want.

I know what you are saying but......

galkpo? really the only one we wanted or the one we thought would go up in value.

wijnaldum. can't believe he was the only choice but rather the distressed goods that was... well value for money.

etc
etc
etc

we are not and never have been a club that goes touchameni or nowt. Bellingham or nowt. etc etc etc.

If day we have two or three targets in mind. We missed out on that in the summer

I presume they have low expectations and know 1 game a week means you can get a tune out of these guys.

The thing is as "humiliating" as it was for klopp or whatever, I fully expected LFC to be in huge trouble but...... brighton only over took lfc after winning so in reality our perception of a disaterous season is a pretty good one for them.

they are delighted with players, new yuong forward coming in, new manager etc etc etc. and are aimed at 10th or so. they are 6th now so are in cloud coocoo land.

NEW: Brighton are interested in signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but any deal could hinge on whether Liverpool are prepared to let the midfielder leave for nothing this month.
Oxlade-Chamberlain will leave Anfield, although it remains to be seen whether he departs at the end of the season when his contract expires or if Liverpool are open to letting him leave before this month's transfer deadline, with Brighton interested.
Other Premier League clubs have also shown an [HASHTAG]#LFC[/HASHTAG]
New Brighton's a bit of a step down.

Brighton reject Arsenal's £60m bid for Caicedo.

I wonder if this forces our hand and we put in a bid, or we accept defeat as we can't afford him.

no I don't think it will.

the player got a new agent last week and this is part of the big push to get his big move.

same as the interview where suddenly he is in the media saying how focused he is on Brighton.

it's easy make up rejected bids so it might suit Brighton to not even acknowledge if a bid actually went in.

Brighton are asking 75 and will accept 65. that's the rumour anyway.

cheslea rumour was 55 verbally (thus no proof either way) and now we find this 60mil one.

lfc may or may not be in contact with this agent but will be saying thanks for the info and thinking about what's going on.

Brighton wants sell this window unless the offer is right and really if cheslea are nearby then they will want to push.

however... if new ffp rules are coming in their long contracts mean nothing and they are already up **** creek for ffp.

so only time will tell.
