once we red that edwards is in a new job and this guy has joined him then we will know.

you don't leave a plum job where if you succeed then you will have a huge rep in the game unless you can see the writing on the wall and the offer you have is better then being out on your ear.

you could be right that klopp's got the long knife out and has gutted the dead weight as he sees it.

I wouldn't make up health problems where no are reported, its highly unlikley to be that.

I hope I'm not making up health problems, that wasn't my intention. I read just this week that Peter Crouch was going through mental health issues in his playing career. I didn't know that. Quite a number of ex-players have come out about it after the fact. A high pressure job will do that. It's because of the surprise surrounding this particular news that I thought about it again.

The fact that the club are quoted as being disappointed rather than supportive leads me to beleive that he's just walked in and said bye.

My theory holds true - we gave Klopp too much power as part of his new contract, he overruled the recruitment staff all summer over signings and they’re peed off.

Well, the evidence for that is klopp saying he was happy with squad after looking at touchy given the lad actually said we made first move.

If they are humped off then it's only cos the blame goes to them for failing to sell ox and kieta.

If I were offered a choice of who to run policy at lfc however, well it's not an inexperienced man at the level of technical director like ward.

I think he knows he will be gone with any new owners cos he's an fsg make do job or he's off to rejoined Edwards.

i disagree. Rodgers was a problem because he didn’t want to work with the committee, and clashed instead.

Klopp came in and they worked as a team and have such a phenomenal record. Until Klopp was given a new contract and … well look at how the summer panned out as a result.

This is a concern that some crucial figures have left over the last 12 months. Klopp could end up as another Wenger.

But the self same committee entered a bargaining and bartering system enabled by Ian ayre thst led to balotelli.

We cleaned house when klopp came and get the big deals right cos he knew exactly what he wanted and they could get on getting it. Klopp.let them buy the minaminos that did **** all to improve us still.

The second fsg is gone we need a lot better than a technical director who'd look past haaland and see a little midget who's a bargain on cheap release clause to flip for profit later.

We need the technical director that secures the players before they emerge.

You're placing a lot of emphasis on the new contract which in itself is just more speculation. Klopp has worked with the these three for 7 years. It would be extremely odd for him to now be telling them they're doing it wrong or whatever. The system has worked well and we're always saying how Klopp is maybe over sentimental to those around him.

Also, remember when Buvac left and some were saying it would all fall apart? We started improving the minute he left. Not saying he wasn't good or was holding us back but Klopp seems to be able to get the most out of what he has and actually thrives in adversity.

I agree that it really doesn't make sense to change a winning formula but I do think that's what's happened based on piecing things together (in my own head of course). We still haven't employed a club doctor, key people in the recruitment team have resigned in quick succession, the sh*t show of the summer transfer window - all pretty much happening once Klopp and his team signed new contracts. Not to mention awarding new contracts to ageing players.

We had such a good structure in place which shouldn't change when people leave roles - but we can clearly see that things have changed since Edwards left. As I say, this is purely speculation, but I do think Edwards had enough of the lack of funds available and Klopp turning down his recommendations. I suspect Julian Ward and the recruitment team have had enough as well. I believe our South American scouts also left not too long ago as well.

One rumour that I had heard is that the South American scouts had done a lot of work to convince Buonanotte to sign for us however Ljinders rejected the opportunity. The scouts were not happy and have left due to the constant pushback from Klopp and his team. Brighton then went onto sign him.

All rumours of course :)
 
I believe Athletic / Times even mentioned that Klopp had more of a hands on role in recruitment over the past 12 months, which agains supports the theory above. James Pearce even mentioned that Klopp particular wanted Darwin Nunez even though the recruitment team weren't overly keen but Klopp got his way - something that wouldn't have happened under Edwards.

That’s good then. Manager should always have final say and if he wants someone should push hard to get it and overrule someone higher up who won’t be selecting the team.

If edwards has been putting a stop on players klopp wants as you seen to suggest then prob for the best he went. Manager is the one with the final tactical knowledge of his team, is the one that spends most time with the players and is the one that lives and dies by the results of the team so has to have most input and get final say.

Didn’t Edwards resign a long time before summer? To me sounds like he’s got a big more powerful job and is working out his non-compete and is lining up more to come with him and/or his absence has highlighted others shortfalls. We’ll see soon enough.
