Which is fair enough - but we're essentially committing £350k a week in wages to two players who aren't playing much. That is a huge amount. How long we do expect to keep them on the books if we're all want from them is 'leadership' off the pitch?

We're not an oil club so we have to be clever with our resources. You both have mentioned Pogba twice but what if we invest that money in another Diaz or Fabinho, or Salah? Which is more likely given our track record?

Milner hasn't got a new contract yet, he has to agree so i don't think it will be 135k. he's kicking lumps out of lads and closing down a few games for us and part of a quad.

350k a week to try for the quad. that's [HASHTAG]#value[/HASHTAG] for me.

The issue is not about buying a star, its about running the dressing room like a fascist state.

If you allow rot like utd you get egos and cliques. Milner and henderson are the storm troopers. Lads like elliott (note the funny hair is already going away) or jones need to be clamped down on hard and quickly put on the one true path to greatness.

People like diaz are quiet hardworking and brilliant but won't clamp down on egos. Fabinho. too quiet. nice lad. matip joker, vvd laid back. alisson too bust poraying etc etc.

Look at mane and salah. hardworking, dedicated but egos the size of mount everest and they might be great daily examples of eating right and working but they would also be potentially political and cliques could form.

Klopp needs to sit at the top of the pile and not be involved in keeping troops in line.
Linders needs to be the nice guy
the players should fear kornmayer and kraweitz from a distance.

But you needs someone to slam thier fingers in their lockers or steal their lunch money. :)

every good manager has a guy who is the equivalent of the company sergeant major.

ferguson had keane, ferdinand scholes neville. He had egos like ronaldo and tevez and berbatov etc. Agent ole had ZERO leaders

Pep at barca had Puyol and he had zavi. all the players turned to xavi to find out what he thought. busquests etc all said so.

mourinho at cheslea round I had terry and lampard and dorgba but those same guys got him the sack. (and several more managers)

while i agree we've paid henderson a **** ton of money more than his sub appearances are worth we are looking at mr liverpool now. Gerrard was this. Carragher was this.

THE REASON WE NEVER WON A TITLE IMO. Gerrard was a guy who dropped the head imo. he gave up when hodgson came in. It was very clear.

henderson for me sets the tone.

thats a wise pundit. makes himself look ITK while simply throwing the already known real madrid link out to cover all.

the worlds knows the difference between us and city now is CM. GK, defenders and attackers are all equal or favouring us slightly. city midfield bests ours.

They are playing. And they’re generally always available. Milner I can understand as he is a bit psrt player but the other is captain and part of first choice midfield.

We have Jones and Elliott as young midfielders who can learn a lot from players like Milner and Hendo. And are great players to have to help mould them into first team players.

Mané and Salah 'egos the size of mount Everest'. Really??? I think they are both very humble. I haven't seen any other footballers posting pictures of themselves cleaning the toilets in their mosques (churches or whatever). Salah may be having a standoff over a new deal but we have no idea on any of the details. Rest assured that the money he makes builds hospitals and gets given to the homeless and beggars on the street. That's someone with a kind soul and spirit and understanding of his fellow humans who is paying it back or forward whichever way you choose to look at it, not a massive ego.

Maybe it's just clever rotation but Hendo's minutes have dropped since the last couple of Intl breaks. Klopp is now mainly only using 4 midfielders - Thiago and Fab with the most minutes, and Hendo and Naby are pretty much even.

Whether Hendo's reducing minutes are down to ability or just to manage his mins and keep people fresh, only Klopp will know.

Last 7 Prem games going back to international break in March
90 mins
86 mins

so started every game bar 1. Played most of not all game of the rest.

Before that going back to January 1st

Bit of a myth about minutes dropped. All that’s happened is he’s been rotated more for the cup games, I’m guessing with idea to keep squad for and fresh for end of season.

CL this season

84
73
90
90
27
not in squad
31
25
29
58

so he’s only started 1 of the last 5 that been available so it’s clear that klopp is rotating more so not playing twice a week in an area where he thinks we have cover.

Given the Prem is the bread and butter and has started and played pretty much every minute the last 4 months, I’d say there is no question about his ability.

given he didn’t start v Everton I assume role will reverse and he’ll play tonight.

Although that would be a healthy profit on kostas in a short space of time if he's happy to stay as back up to robbo then we should keep him.

Probably just bullshit anyway but

So it’s only really the CL where he’s started a few games recently and 3 of last 7 prem matches.

I have it as follows (across all comps:

Minutes (approx) since international period: - Fab 535, Thiago 545 - Hendo 390, Naby 350 - Jones 65, Milly 75 - Ox and Harvey 0

Total minutes if you count from Leicester 10-2-22 until today: - Fab 1450 - Hendo 1080 - Thiago 1070 - Naby 865 - Curtis 315 - Milly 250 - Harvey 245 - Ox 220

I find him very stuck right out wide and not able to come in and influence. he improved us no end that first year but came alive when we switched him.

I think if you play a convenitional winger on the right you need men in the box and thats not currently our game.

Same for jota as well. every times he is out there he's too far from goal and doing nothing. off the left he is better but best at no 9.

Sadio Mané developed at Southampton as a 2nd striker with Graziano Pellè.He took LFC into the top 4 as a right winger. Salah arrived so he won the Premier League & Champions League as a left winger. He’s now spearheading their quadruple charge as a false 9. Premier League legend.

lol. He’s better than Utd’s starting full backs combined who cost a total of c.£100m. So that’s his price b1tches :smiley-finger007:

does it matter really? If Klopp says that he wants him, is there anyone on here who would really argue with him?

I don't think we'd sell at any price just yet. He's vital to how we now manage player's minutes with playing so many games. He fits us perfectly and has a great attitude and work rate.

so LEFT winger actually winning things and false 9 delivering a quad.

henderson certainly has taken a step back over past month and keita has done well. being first choice in CL was huge for him.

Am pretty sure that it’s horses for courses. Hendo will play in other games as ‘first choice’. I love that we (finally) have this luxury and FSG and Klopp should be commended for it.
