Coutinho money bought is the title so I don’t have any hard feelings really for him…..he would be useful in the middle where we have virtually zero creativity, though not sure he’s the player he was anymore s Sterling’s final ball or decision making has always been suspect…

I really don't get the argument over Coutinho - he was never as good as he was made out to be and the over-inflated value put on him was Barca BS.
Going back rarely works very well, imo. We've moved on, and we should be looking to the future, not the past.

Have we moved on in midfield? I’m not sure we have tbh. Ultimately if Cout’s is going for a song and Klopp wants him or doesn’t want him, I’d back Klopp’s judgement over anyone’s else’s.

So would I - including my own. I'm just expressing my opinion. I never thought he was as good as some said anyway and I don't think he'd improve us significantly.
Seems to me that this is just a bit of Spanish hackery, probably fuelled by Barca - they've being trying to palm him back on us for ages to cut their losses.

Appreciate your opinion mate, mine is slightly different but looks like we both agree that it’s only Klopp’s that counts!

Probably only a few % of the transfer crap written has an element of truth tbh and boy, don’t we all feed on it during international breaks <laugh>

Barca are desperate to shed wages. They will want to hold fati and pedri and that young core for the next manager.

Coutinho, griezmann and dembele are milestones round their necks that had to go. Messi they had to try crocodile tears when he left but secretly they are delighted he is gone.

They got to blame the rules and shrug and the bitter little pill got swallowed up. He wasnt half the player he was 5 years ago and was still wanting massive worldie wages so they simply have not that money for ego.

Coutinho, dembele and griezmann gone in the year will take another mil per week off the disastrous wage bill.

I think on his day he was absolute quality. He offered things none of the rest of our midfield did in those tight spaces. Able to dribble and go past people. Problem was he’s would often be anonymous in games. His consistency is what stopped him being top quality but on his day was brilliant. Whether can still produce remains to be seen as been so long since seen him regularly. Even at barca in first year though he still produce and was unfairly treated I think. He was brought in to replace iniesta and no one was going to be able to do that.

He wouldn’t fit into our current midfield set up anyway and if anything would just hinder Jones and Elliott as more that type of midfielder. As a wide left option he’s very different to mane so wouldn’t be a like for like replacement either.

If klopp saw him as an option, as something different and cover for mane for example then sure but I don’t think klopps even interested tbh. Just doesn’t seem a very klopp like signing

reality is we couldn’t afford him. Newcastle could though <whistle>

they’re going to learn the hard way with players but should be an interesting watch…..and honestly, I don’t begrudge their fans anything!

Pedri has just signed a new contract with Barcelona including a €1bn release clause

ATM, most people either like or don't mind Newcastle. How long until that changes and they because disliked like Man City?

Releases clauses don't really mean anything in Spain, al players have them (part of the rules) and they're usually set ridiculously high (because clubs don't want to lose them). Players usually move for less than that release clause, Pedri certainly will if he ever leaves Barca

When they are "relevant"

City fans were long suffering but that now be like saying tories were along suffering while.blair was in charge. The ****s have laorded it long enough and you can see the damage they are doing to the game ;)

Newcastle is now mega rich club no 4. Man utd dwarf all others in revenue and wages still. Chelsea, city and Newcastle can outspend anyone

Either the cl spots expand of lfc are ****ed. End of.

Spurs and arsenal and leicester all mega rich owners. Villa have one who likes to call themselves that. All want to adhere to some form of "normal business"

The oil dopers dont care as it's about status.

They had the laughable temerity to talk like the money was the people of saudi arabias property.

They will pour it about to create a brand all the while bombing yemen
