Konate seems to be a rumour that won’t go away - good player like but another Matip with injury record.

I assume that Matip will leave

VvD and Gomez return, Both may suffer a spate of further injuries that you often see after such big injuries and an extended lay off. I would not include Gomez in our 4 CB’s. If Philips stays, it can only be as #4....even then, I’d try to replace him. So fir me, we need 2 quality CB’s and if one is injury prone, keep Phillips as back up.

1. VvD
2. ?
3. ?
4. Kabak

?. Gomez
?. Philips

sell/release. Matip, Williams

we also need midfielders, forwards and proper full backs.

alternatively we can all just pray for an injury free season <whistle>

no way are we buying 3 CB's and if Robbo isn't a proper full back i'm not sure what is . With the Covid impact on our revenues i think it may be a quieter window than many expect unless we pick up some players in distress sales or one of our big assets is .

which is why Phillips will stay....for now.

and I mean full backs that can support or even challenge Robbo and TAA because right now, we absolutely do not have this.

Oh and unfortunately, I agree that it is likely to be a quiet window unless we sell our prize asset - Salah. <ok>

Klopp needs to show ruthlessness.

Whatever he does has to be blended with us knowing we will either fail hard in the top 4 run in or that we will be in the cl.

Until we know either way its tough to call what is needed.

If we have europa next year there is a strong case for keeping a lot of players just even to do the job there.

Overall thought quality of the first 11 comes first so I agree with the sentiment above. 2 cbs coming back with massive scars on their knees is hardly a recipe for long term staying fit. Add in gomez always has a mistake in him and I would happily see a new rcb come in.

However being realistic I can see us making so and claiming we have fixed matip (which wont be the case)

We have Neco and The Greek (should be a band name), and although there may be room for improvement I doubt that this will be seen as a priority.
More urgency will be given to the CB issue. We could also do with some bugger to score some goals, but I think Klopp will believe he can resurrect the form of the ones he's got.
The way the financial situation is, I think anyone who's expecting a splurge is going to be mightily disappointed.

No sanctions announced yet for Real and Barcelona. They could get a European ban which would rule them out as likely suitors for Salah and I can't see him going anywhere else.

They won't get a European ban. The others have had a slap on the wrist with a 1.6m fine and 5% of next European taking, that's packet change to these clubs.

I agree. Unfortunately.

I doubt they'll get a ban simply because they are the biggest draw but they will get a much stiffer penalty than the other clubs. For two clubs in serious financial woes, it could have the same effect in terms of not being an option for Salah.

right now their chances of playing European competition next season must be fairly slim .
