you are mixing your drinks mate.
Kane is playing further from goal. his numbers this season are MORE impressive than previous.
Haaland is a pure goal scorer and a box man. He is actually unimpressive round the park so his numbers reflect where he plays.
Same for messi running about shooting from distance.
However if it were that easy everyone would score goals. the point is not about creating "lots of chances" it is taking the really good ones.
When a forward like mane gets a run on goal and misses the target, fires it right at the keeper etc they are pointless. If he were cutting in and shooting form the edge of the box its a totally different thing. Same for salah. a lot of his shots are doing this. however the critical misses like against real madrid are where forwards earn their money.
The reality is that in a high class game you ought to see maybe one or two of those really big big chances where you either get behind onto keeper of have a cut back to shoot from. we cannot rely on creating lots and lots of shots.
This is reality. when the really big chance comes son and kanes figures shoot up. If son is in on goal he is scoring way way more than 20% of them as he passes it home. Mane and firmino are far more likely go for power or shovel it wide than anything. Salah is the only one with a half decent record for us and even he is not passing it home but just relying on power.
A stat like 20% adds up all sorts of chances but when the chips are down and these guys above are in on goal they rarely miss.
They don't seem to have any contacts within the club and are way off base a lot of the time. The echo are generally useless though
Then we need to look at the conversion rates for shots on target, and big chances …
Give me some time!

No chance. We need competition. We cant moan last year that Bobby needs a rest, has no competition etc, and then want to get rid of him when haven’t had that chance to rotate him with that competition yet.
yes his numbers are down but they’ve never been high. He’s there for more than just scoring goals abs getting assists. He drops deep, links play, starts the press. Yes he hasn’t been as good this year in those areas either, but neither has the whole team. He needs a rest and hasn’t got it this year with Jota being out so long in middle of season.
Thats were mane isn't bothered to get and salah is glued to the wing.
Our tactics suck arse.
in the box mate, thats where haaland comes alive.

I wouldn't even have mane starting
If you look back at a couple incidents in the last couple of games you will see mane just totally switch off and turn his back on play. For example phillips made an absolute howler against leeds that nearly gave a goal away but if you watch it back you will see mane dropping deep on the wrong side of the pitch laying it off then just turned his back on the ball to wander off. Not alive to anything
Against newcastle he did the same instead of pressing, literally turned his back on the newcastle defenders to jog back to halfway and a defensive position.
That tells me that his head is totally and utterly gone.
He did have competition this year - Jota. And we haven't really seen much of an improvement. His regression isn't just from this year, it's far beyond that. On the flip side, Mane looks awful at the moment but I think it's more of a dip rather than a real regression based on the data.
Disregarding the hard stats on Bobby (goals and assists), his link up isn't even that good anymore. He constantly gives the ball away and that's just with simple passes, not high risk. He has looked decent in the no 10 role recently and that could be where we use him from now on.
I wouldn’t mind keeping Bobby but you have to be real. We can’t afford to keep players on, we literally have to sell to buy. At the same time, we can’t keep players longer than they need to be here. As the famous saying goes - let players age on someone else’s pitch.

there is a huge list of players I’d get rid of before him as well. Get rid of him and replace him then you still have issue of only having 4 players up top. 1 or 2 injuries and screwed again.
Also how much do you realistically think would get for him? Not been in best form, doesn’t score goals, 28/29 years old? In a certain style he is brilliant when on form, but he wouldn’t fit a lot of clubs as a number 9 so I don’t think you’d get more than 15/20m in this window
Brewster I guess, who's obviously been ripping it up this season. When was the last time we brought through a striker?
We have young talent coming through all over the place and no forwards? I think Jones could play the Firmino role. He still defers a lot to the more senior players. Once he gets the confidence to go for it himself, I think he could chip in with 5 or 6 goals a season. Has to play regularly obviously.
It does diversify the power though which is what some fans want. I don't think there is a perfect system but things have to change. How? I have no idea.50+1 has it's advantages but it's not perfect. A friend of mine is a member of Schalke. He went to one AGM and that was enough. Problem is, with 250,000 members or whatever, that's a lot of people who can have a say. And fans don't always make the best owners. Sometimes you need to take the emotion out. So while something like the ESL may not pass the 50+1, Schalke's current sporting and financial disaster (even though they're propped up by Gazprom) is an example that it doesn't guarantee good sporting governance in general.
As long as Sheff U have what it takes to stay in the Championship.Brewster I guess, who's obviously been ripping it up this season.
Hopefully some time in the Championship will let him get some form back, for his sake.
if he did he obviously hadn't seen them play . I failed to see how it was a good choice in anything but financial terms as i was sure he wouldn't get many goals purely because they create so few chances though not sure anyone could have predicted the disaster it has become .As long as Sheff U have what it takes to stay in the Championship.I feel sorry for Brewster. He thought he was going to a team that suited them both. He has an uphill struggle now to save his career.
