Generwlly we don’t really sign world class players. Mainly because 1, we haven’t been able to afford it, and 2, we haven’t been good enough to attract that top level.

we’ve had to sign younger players and try develop them. Players that have turned very good like alonso, mascherano, Torres, suarez, vvd, alisson, Salah, mane etc...

Genuinely think Thiago is probably the one world class we’ve signed in last 20 odd years but it’s only because he’s at end of contract and 29. I don’t think if he was 25 and middle of contract we’d be in for him because he’d cost 80m plus
Hopefully we're not far off there.

Signing the very best I mean.

Say an Mbappe or Sancho in the next 2 years would mean we are imo.

We were laughed at when we bought Mane,Salah was not good enough for Chelsea, now they wished they have kept him. Jurgen Klopp can turn good player to better and better player. I am not sure if he can have the same effect on Thiago, but surely we have bought a good player .Thiago had the opportunity of going to Manchester United but he preferred Liverpool.

Crystal Palace have made an approach to sign Rhian Brewster. Palace want a permanent deal, which could mean a buyback clause is inserted to protect #lfc’s interest. Sheffield United are also interested in Brewster and may be more willing to accept the clause. [HASHTAG]#awlfc[/HASHTAG] [@_pauljoyce]

Back up left back and Thiago is a great start to the window. Hopefully we get an attacker and a CB before the window closes ...

I can't remember the last we signed a genuine world class player who was in their prime. Maybe Markus Babbel? He was great player from what I remember until he was forced to quit.

He wasn't forced to quit. He didn't actually retire until he was 35. He had to have a year out through illness whilst with us but some players miss a year through injury. Bit like with a serious injury, he wad never the same player after having Gillian-Barre Syndrome (thanks Google)
