So the sitution seems to be, We've agreed with the player, Chelsea have agreed with the club.
Which breaks first, Werners desire to play for us or RBL's demand for the release fee?
His club aren’t demanding anything. They’re at the mercy of his release clause. If a club wants him and pays it by the 15h June, then they are powerless to stop him leaving. It seems Chelsea are willing to pay and you’re not, which given the lads age and talent doesn’t look out of the way by current standards, far from it.

You make a very good point about spending money in the current climate. We've barely got back to training let alone playing competitive games. All the talk of transfers seems a bit too soon and also out of place while we're still in a state of uncertainty. I get that some fans will be disappointed but personally, I want to concentrate on getting back to playing before even thinking about new players coming in, it's too soon. If at this point the transfer had gone ahead, does that jeopardise what we already have? Do our existing forwards get unsettled? Werner is a brilliant player but very much a luxury atm.
