RB Leipzig have played down claims Timo Werner is heading to Liverpool- saying he's heading to Tottenham for the Champions League instead.
Reports in Germany have this Wednesday claimed the Reds are 'serious' about signing the forward in this summer's transfer window, amid claims they made contact with Leipzig in January.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Werner for quite some time, amid claims they have considered triggering his £50million release clause.
Bild, via Sport Witness, claimed Liverpool's plan in January was to sign him and then loan him back to Leipzig for the remainder of the season.
It added that Liverpool are in pole position to land the forward, suggesting the deal will eventually materialise at some point or another in the next few years.
But RB Leipzig have made it clear that they're not on board, with the club's official Twitter account tweeting in response to the speculation: "We heard. He is headed towards Tottenham though."
NOTE: No smoke without fire...Hahaha,

The difference is Virgil read the union handbook - only go on strike for something which, if gained, improves your situation.Same tbf but don't want to be hypocritical since VVD did the same
No.If we could sell Salah this summer and bring in both Werner and Sancho, would you?

There's nothing to say Salah couldn't stay with us for the next 5 years performing at the same level. Sancho and Werner would have been, played well, won a few things and moved on in that time.Just wondered. A lot of us agree Mane is the better player of the two, Salah will be going to the world cup and the AFCON this season, turns 28 this year. Whereas Sancho and Werner are 20 and 24 (in March) respectively, both flexible in position they play and essentially for free or money to spare if Salah was sold.
I would rather have all of them, but thats not happening.
Its integrating them into our system. I'm sure we have looked very closely at both and considered pros and cons.Just wondered. Neil AtkinsonInteresting debate; however I agree with what Niel Atkins says from the anfield wrap. Salah occupies so many players and so dangerous that when he isn't scoring he is so important to the team.
