I'm not as clued up on players as you so I don't know who's better than who but I do like Willian as a player. Trouble with foreign players is they have no allegiance to foreign teams so will go for the money or London just because it's London.

Another question - is Chelsea becoming a sinking ship?

just my opinion mate. means nothing. pedro was good at one rime but dont think hes at the level. williaan has great work ethic.

as for Chelsea, just my opinion but when I see a squad reading green, drinkwater, Barkley I have to wonder.

however me must be clear that as of today their can field a really top top team. keeping hazard and courtois would be big though.

my Chelsea team would be

courtois
azpi christensen rudiger alonso
jorginho Kante fabregas
willian morata hazard

now... say they lose courtois and hazard and replace with pickford and just play pedro... not as good.

now factor in morata rumours.. Kanye to pay links... willian will be sold...

suddenly it starts looking like a big project.


I think this summer is crucial for them. they could be brilliant or nowhere

Aren't they there to bolster the home-grown quota with not much intention of being played? Green surely not a replacement for Courtois. Be interesting if [big if] they sign Pickford as I can't see him 1st choice for them either. I don't think his stats are amazing and they will want amazing.
 
Chelsea becoming a sinking ship?.
The problem is that Roman Abrahmovich is not willing to bankroll them as before. And,that is very significant.

Green is going to sit in the reserves (Caballero will sit on the bench) for the full length of his contract unless their 1st choice GK is injured. Might get a game in the FA/league cup if Chelsea draw a Championship or lower team.

Willian was the only senior player I had any respect for in that season when they downed tools under Mourinho.
As much as I enjoy anything that discomfits José, I think professionals should get on with the job that they're paid for and giving anything less than your all is an insult to the fans.
Hazard is a great footballer, but I've no time for the selfish little turd after that.

Player sales likely to be circa £50m
Regular annual budget with new tv money £60m

Since Mourinho joined Man Utd, he's got a net spend of £100m per season. Klopp, for the same period of time, is on £40m per season

Can't be bothered trying to compare with other clubs - and anyway, in the case of City or Chavs it would have to be compared with their period of highest spending, and take into account the ridiculous inflation in the market.
I think we can safely say the criticism is just a case of opportunistic wummery.
