I'm siding with myself and using someone who lives actually in Nottingham to back me up <whistle>

Lots of people, back in the day, [they aren't relevant to us now] referred to them as Notts Forest. This isn't for you to watch just to see the title - and there's others like it. Not saying what is or isn't the correct term to us btw, just using the term I know them by.

If you're happy to be wrong mate then feel free to crack on with it ;)

It happens all over the country mate, still incorrect.

Nah, if I was talking about "Notts Forest" you'd know which club I was referring to, that makes it correct and applicable.

It's like I've never heard anybody in Liverpool refer to LFC as "Pool", but if I heard someone say it I'd know they were referring to LFC.

So its a load of cobs and baps and barmcakes to think otherwise.:emoticon-0172-mooni

so why wouldn't they be referring to hartlepool or blackpool :bandit: <laugh>

Hers as much evidence as you like our try to justify it in anyway away you like, it's still factually incorrect.

Quite ironic that people spend lords of time criticises media outlets but then use them to back up their incorrect claim. Even if it is in a wum attempt ;)

it's like people saying United.. and me saying what, Leeds?

Newcastle fans do refer to their team as United. Not sure about Leeds fans. I think it's **** that Man Utd tried to claim 'United' to themselves which is why I never refer to them in that way

Scousers will abbreviate anything. Who's going to say Nottingham Forest when you can say Notts Forest?

It's all to do with speech - how would you even say Nottm?

Exactly right, you can't pronounce "Nottm" other than saying "Nottingham".

I'm sure we're all aware of local places to where we live that are said in a different way to what they're meant to be said.

As I said earlier, the Nottm/Notts was dropped in most media outlets a while ago, they just get called Forest nowadays.

Colloquialisms can't be incorrect - factually or otherwise.

I think you just have to accept that some people say Notts Forest and get over it ;)

@johnsonsbaby

To stop his child entering the kitchen, the guy in the video once cut a door in half because he didn't want to pay for a stair gate. That's a £80 door ruined to save £15!

I only posted the video for a laugh and you're right I know nothing about the person in question. I just thought it interesting that one of their own local fans calls them Notts. Personally it was a toss up which name was better anyway Knox or Notts they're both pretty awful <laugh> On the bright side, he can always change his name when he's older
