What I don’t get is them saying talks may resume after the WC. By all accounts he’s happy wth everything contract related etc and only issue is with price with Lyon.

No reason that if we agree a price mid World Cup that his agent can’t just sign the contract and be done with it. Only thing is france may not want it announced during the WC I suppose in case it takes attention away from France.

If he has a good WC you may go back and find the price has gone up considerably, his agent has been saying for days that there could be more clubs chasing him after the WC.

World now knows he has a dodgy knee. It's definitely a risk, but he's not first choice for France either
