would people.not have said this about salah 12 months ago?

ok like we saw butland and have seen butland lots but a good player can be made worse by poor coaching and set up.

Allison wasn't all that impressive over the two ties but aside from one spilled catch which didn't lead to anything why is he not up.to.it on those two displays?

He also came out of his area for a ball that wasn't his and almost put Salah in. We haven't really seen enough of him to make a fair judgement (well I haven't), but I haven't seen anything to make him stand out.
Karius has improved, and he dominates his box better than Mig, but that tendency to push the ball out into the danger area will cost us.
It's been there since before he joined, and it hasn't been coached out of him yet.
Pushing the ball well out to the sides is one thing that Mig is actually pretty good at.

If £35m is only going to buy you Butland right hand (that’s some ridiculous valuation) then would be a hard pass.

He’s a good keeper with potential but talking silly world class kind of money which he just isn’t worth.

yeah nobody for roma really "stood out" and made me think it'd be amazing.

Yeah. for that we might as well do anywhere in europe and pick up just as good a keeper for 10mil. 90% of leagues in europe will sell a gk for 10mil and they will be competant.

Well we have 2 competent keepers now. If we’re going to buy needs to be someone that’s outstanding and definite first choice.

are they really any more competent than butland really?

lets face it we have been waiting for karius to **** it.

He got lucky with a pen call.

he caught absolutely everything possible (well done)

He palmed one out for a goal

he never dived for a shot for a goal.

the point is if butland is 35mil for one glove then whats the point in fishing in england at all? We might as well promote one of the to young lads we have as a HG player.

If theres quality out there we have to find it and develop it by the look of things. Maybe thats karius but you'd want a guy who's shown not to palm **** out as karius has been shwon to do.

At this point i'd rather by a 21 year old that the scouts spot than keep this up

You said we should go out and buy a competent keeper for £10m. Well we did that with Karius. He’s a competent keeper. We did that wth Mig.

Neither are outstanding, neither are terrible. They are competent so there’s no point going and buying a 3rd that’s no huge improvement in ether of those 2.

I think Mig will be gone in summer anyway. From interviews he previously said he doesn’t want to sit on the bench and he’s not getting back into the team

Bang on the money.

As for Allison I thought he was pretty good in goal. Yes he let in 7 overall but how many could he stop (he stopped quite a fair few shots).

Maybe manes and ginis and even that's being harsh as they were both 1 on 1s . The rest he had no chance

we got karius for only 4.

mings was 10.

I think you'd be able to find a reliable enough lad for 10mil and drive it on.

What do we need to do... buy a star or but the guy who will become the star?

I don't know.. but thats what we seem to try to do.

VVD.. was he a star. No. We was very expensive and the fee of a star mind.
Ox. star. nope. slaughtered by left and right
Salah. star? no. called a chelsea reject by some.
Mane. star? no rejected by utd for being inconsistent
Frimino 29mil was told to us we were mad. didn't look right under rodgers even.

So.... We fans know looking at a lad like karius that he might do ok but he's got things in him. I think having watching mingolet he is inclinded to be alseep at times. karius palms stuff out. we saw it the minute we heard we were buying him in his record and he's still doing it.

I think Allison is vastly expensive but if klopp says he's the one then fine. If not then fine. Honeslty i don't know what klopp will do with the position.

You are right mingolet will prob leave. so is it a no 2 or no 1 klopp wants?

If we spend big on one position this summer I'd want it to be buying the best keeper we can.

If we spend big on two players, I'd want a new CB to partner VVD.

To be honest, the only reason Karius is ahead of Mignolet is because of age.

Simon is entering his peak years and is still susceptible to crucial mistakes. With Karius we're just hoping he can iron them out. Unless he pulls off worldies against Madrid, I can't see him retaining the no.1 spot.

That brings us on to a replacement. I don't think we'll spend a ridiculous sum on Alisson (anything more than £40m-ish is robbery).

Butland is pointless, he isn't a proportionate improvement for the cost involved.

Worst case scenario, I'd like us to go out and spend the £10m (roundabout figure) people are saying on someone who needs that chance.

We need a GK, CB, DM and a flexible Winger (someone that can across the front 3) if we're even going to think about challenging imo.

First year in ages that a LB isn't needed <diva>

Or just throw a massive amount at Oblak - He's only 25 so could be our keeper for 10 years.
