its true, salah has ropey finishing. He gets many chances because of his attributes though so more than makes up for it. Better to have a player who can get 5 chances and bag 2 than a slow lumbering stand around in the box clinical striker who can only finish 1 in 2

Id agree with you at start of the season but his conversion rate has improved dramatically from the first 2/3 months.

Still has moments but the guy scored 15 goals twice for Roma as well who I don’t think were creating shed load of chances so finishing isn’t that bad.

Sure someone could find a stat stat for his conversion rathe of chances, think he’ll be up there this year

You do know he has a better shots on target ratio than Harry The New Messiah Kane?
Whilst that doesn't mean much in itself (there could be a lot of powder puff shots in there), the fact that he is only two behind the man who some berks are comparing to Messi and Ronaldo, would suggest that he's not too shabby.
Oh, and not to mention that he's not supposed to be an out and out goalscorer like Kane.
Far fewer shots than Kane, but a better accuracy, doesn't fit at all with the picture you're trying to paint.
It's true it took him a while to get his eye in, but I think you're living in the past here.

So you’re saying he should score every chance he gets on goal, his goal tally would be what 36 to 40 at this point of the season<yikes>, that is just unheard of even the most prolific n9’s of all time do miss sitters. As others have said 50 goals between bobby and salad is a brilliant return

@Skylarker you need to save your boys

in my non extreme example one has a 40% conversion and one has 50%?

I'll give you that, he's been far more clinical recently than earlier in the season. Still a bit of a ropey finisher for me personally.

Didn't watch the City match so dunno how many he missed there before his goal but he missed 3 pretty good chances against the swans and he missed 3 sitters against leicester before he smashed 2 in

edit: fail quote

ottenham have contacted Carlo Ancelotti’s agent to discuss the possibility of the Italian becoming Tottenham boss on the off-chance Real Madrid or PSG will move for Mauricio Pochettino (Gazetta dello Sport)

Our midfield is still lacking lmo, so for me we should really sign a midfielder maybe that Goretzka bloke, to be fair to Karius he hasn’t had a good long run of games to be judged just yet. But yeah we need to flog out mignolet is just not good enough for us

Karius has had enough games overall to show that he's never going to make it as 'the guy', there's absolutely no signs there that there's something amazing waiting to emerge. All I see that stands out, when anything in particular stands out, are hesitation, passivity, bad decisions, errors of judgement and mistakes

yeah i agree. there has to be something there just saying this is me as a keeper and really theres nothing aside from what you've said.

Mignolet has too many mistakes in him for a club with high ambitions, and he isn't confident enough - but his instincts are ok. Karius doesn't even seem to have that as far as I can see. I just can't see him developing into what we need.
I can only guess as to what anyone saw in him that made us buy him in the first place.

What has Ward got to do to get a look? Mig has poor game and is insta dropped. Klopp obv wants Karius to be number 1 but he is ****e also. Ward has good season on loan and gets recalled to do nothing.
I hope he gets time in next FA cup round.

In your non extreme sample one has 40% other 50% yet you still challenge my quote lol.

Like I said % not your strong point.

I will disagree with you in this. The problem is Mig has gotten the chance to play game in game out in the league for 3 years while it has been start stop for Karius. One thing Karius has is distribution is better both hands and feet than Mig on the counter. There is selective bias from fans when they decide a player is not good enough. It happened to Lucas and when he finally started to convince fans he was good got that injury and was forever elevated to a status higher than his abilities.

Karius is young and I'd rather he plays the remaining 15 games and judge him over that period than let one very good shot from Sane confine him to another team.

You challenged my post on you not being good at % yet you admit one is 40% other is 50% and you rather the 40%.

Hope that clears the confusion up :bandit:

quite clearly that was an example of what salah is (i haven't put names on) and is what you prefer.

It's better for a guy to get himself (or make himself) opportunities even if he finishes less as you get 2 goals instead of the more clinical striker who only gets 2 chances as you only get 1 goal <doh>
