**** Coutinho, cup tied in CL. and had to pay 11m of his own money to get his move to Barca.

Word on the street is a certain Mr. L Suarez is on his way back to Anfield in the Summer if a deal can't be sorted in January.

Whotinho?

More chance we'll win the league this season!

Sorry for being a kill joy but I cannot summon any enthusiasm for this thread:

Here is a player idolised by his fans, his team mates and appreciated and indulged by his manager. All Klopp had asked him was to at least finish the season he had started, help us get that 4th place, do a good CL and perhaps win the FA cup. That surely is not too much to ask for a player who still had 4 years left on his contract and who we would allow to go in the summer.

Surely it has to be a 2 way street. He couldn't even give LFC that and instead indulged Barcelona in their need to calm their fans and prop up their politician management.

He dumped us without hesitation and any thoughts for our needs for this season. It wouldn't have cost him or his new club any thing. None of the big departures (Ronaldo, Bale, Torres, Suarez, Alonso, Masch) occurred in mid season.

A player has to show a modicum of loyalty and respect for the club he plays for. Insisting to leave mid season stinks to high heavens.
I'm with you on this, carl. <ok>

Can't be angry at him, I think he gave us an extra few months because of the Van Dijk stuff and had already agreed with the club that he'd leave in Jan after we'd signed Van Dijk.

If people get angry about this then they might as well not get attached to any South American player we sign in future because realistically they'll always want to go to Barca/Madrid, its the pinnacle of club football for them and its much more similar to home than England will ever be.

Was a pleasure to watch when he was on form.

Suarez? Who is he? :bandit:

I'd take Suarez back if he had a good behaviour clause in his contract- **** up and your weekly pay cheque drops for remainder of contract.

Suarez is 30 now, but his game was never about pace (he was never that pacy to begin with). If he had the same hunger he had before he left he would still be an enormous asset.

Nothing like the player he was when Neymar was setting him up.

When you think about it we are quids in, glad we got rid of the money grabbing little sh*t now. Still a class player though.

he just got ideas once he got in Brazil side and got more attention.

I think we will be told were were robbed within 6 months.

I wish him well anyway. he gave us entertainment when we had Lambert and Balotelli

The sooner the dust settles on this story the better, no one forced him to leave in fact quite the opposite happened, but he wanted out and got his way.
Time to move on and concentrate on LFC, Couts is history and left us with memories of some great goals/assists but not as many as Suarez.:emoticon-0105-wink:

So I wonder how many BS articles get printed today about our targets?

I suspect the usual names will pop up with perhaps a new name thrown in for full effect.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez
All the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Monday, January 8.

Liverpool are interested in signing Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez as they look to reinvest some of the fee from Barcelona for Phillipe Coutinho, report the Liverpool Echo.

Completely depends how it gets spent.

Just seen this on Sky Sports though...

I posted exactly what games there were

he has missed the first 4 games, then a few with injury in the middle and only the burnely game right now.

14 seems quite a lot to claim he has missed.

watford D
palace W
arsneal W
City. L
Hudderfield W
west ham W
stoke W
burnely W

So we beat a lot of **** teams there wihtout him.

I'd add everton as he came on with 12 mins to go at 1-1 on a dirty miserable night

He played against:

burnely D
Leicester W
Newcastle D (but he scored and its not his fault the team missed loads of chances and the cbs ****ed it
Utd D
spurs L lovren and mingolet **** ups
southampton win
cheslea D
Brighton win
WBA D (bad result that)
bournemouth win
Arsenal D (is he repsonsible for that idiocy from 2-0 up?)
swansea win
Leicester win

what about CL.
he didn't play v hoffenhiem who were absolute trash so missed two easy wins that get chalked up he missed the maribor home win at 3-0 (with him we beat them by 7) to thats 3 to add to the games above.

He played in the scratch side that lost to leicester... was that his fault? nope.

SO..... hang on now... what exactly did that stat from SKY prove exactly?

Is he responsible for Centre halves absolutely ****ing up? is he responsible for mingolet ****ing up?

He played v utd who parked the bus and cheslea who got an absolute fluke goal to equalise, he played as lovren let spurs score two easy goals. he played v arsenal where we were 2-0 and he was brillinat only to see two absolute shambolic goals in 5 mins due to gomez and mingolet

He didn't play v city nor the arsenal win.

for me that stat is complete turd. It is ignoring context totally. His inclusion had nothing to do with most of the **** ups i've outlined. He's scored 12 and assisted 9 or something for us this season

So 14 games played apparently without him. make that 2 qualifiers, 1 CL group match and 8 league games missed..... thats right off the bat blown that stat to pieces. he's missed 11 competitive games.

He has played in 20 games for us not 18 and scored 12 goals and made 9 assists.

I think you'll find context and understanding trumps and topline numbers passed off as actual "statistics"

Ok.right.

Wasn't Torres not fully fit and not contributing a great deal to our season when he left?

torres was worse IMO cos our club was near bankrupcy, just bought out and down the bottom of the table under a terrbile manager who got replaced.

He'd a responsibility to see our his year.

But when opportunity knocks you have to take it I suppose.
