What about the massive hike in TV money? CL money? Last summer we had much more to spend than prior years didn't we?

Maybe I just don't want to believe that we have already effectively spent the money on VvD and Keita.

Or maybe that's what FSG want everyone to believe to avoid being charged through the nose...

Doesn't work that way, remember everyone saying Barca got £200m for Neymar so they can pay what we ask for Coutinho even though one of you kept saying they were skint and had to sell before buying. Once clubs see you bank a cheque they want as much of it as they can squeeze out of you for one of their players.


Barca will be selling players in the summer by the way, not because they need to but because they are carrying a lot of dross at the moment.

We'll see. I think you're right and we'll suffer from being quoted ridiculous prices for a while, at least until it's obvious that we don't have any of that money left! Reality is that we probably don't have much left but it won't stop the high prices - as your lot well know!!

Meh. He’s gone. Who cares. We were not miss him that much considering we got the amount we did. We will probably bring in a couple of players with a combined added value much greater than Couts. He was good, but not worth whining about considering.

We replaced Alonso with Aquilani, and we replaced Suarez wit Balotelli. I'm not holding my breath.

Astro kept mentioning the figure of £135m: you repeatedly said Barca would never pay over £100m. So much for that theory.

That just proves the post you quoted right, Barca didn't want to pay more than £100m but because of the huge cheque they banked you managed to squeeze £105m+add ons out of them.
Clubs will be looking to do the same to you now <ok>

Anyhow Coutinho... Thank God that's over. Don't get me wrong, great player, but let's move on now. At his best he was breath taking at his worst he could still change matches with a splash of brilliance, anonymous for 90 mins except a brilliant play... But you couldn't always count on it.


As long as we replace with quality I'm not too bothered. Get some consistency. Maybe overall not as good, but hopefully someone who doesn't go through such hot and cold patches.
