This man gets it. We spent £35m on AOC also which was our summer budget. We had to get rid of Couts to afford VvD and Keita. Nothing more to come until summer now
The money we are getting for Coutinho is insane. Think of the players like Sane, DeBruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Ozil, Morata, Pogba and we got offerred 2 or 3 times their price. There is no way any sane business owner would have turned down that offer. Especially when we ourselves had to fork out £75m for a defender.
Sold on the cheap, all cash not payed up front, no replacement at the club before he leaves, should have made it plain to Barca they can have him at the end of this season, let down by our owners greed.

Me too, but by transfering in Jan we have swapped just for VvD. We have to wait til summer for the full swap

So, are you implying that the £75m for Virgil came out of the Couthinho fee?
I think if you are you are underestimating the dosh our owners generate, not as much as those at City, Utd, Chelsea but enough to buy without selling(if they want to), we knew PC was going but had every right to expect FSG(who had the upper hand)to dictate the price, demand all of the fee up front and to tell Barca he can leave in the summer and not before.
he was physically restrained by the ref. his behaviour was threatening and his language was foul before the 1 second period we all want to find out what was said in.
