Its a good price for Chelsea but Everton were touting 40 odd million not long ago.

Not securing his contract is a major **** up really and its cost them millions.

Yep but that was always going to happen considering how much Barkley wanted out.

Getting £15m now for a player they don't use is better than losing him for nothing come the summer.

What do we make of Emre's transfer?

I'm not too bothered personally.

Him and Henderson are not the standard we need to really compete.

Would have preferred his departure to be on our terms (aka; when surplus to requirements) but not overly fussed as I don't think he's good enough

True but its definitely a case of what 'could have been'.

He was supposed to be Everton's Gerrard.

Part of me wishes he would stick it out at his boyhood club but he clearly thinks he is better than the club so I'm not surprised they flogged him.

I quite like the guy buts he's definitely part of our hollow midfield and isn't good enough on the ball.

Will be good in Italy where he will have more time and influence.

Disappointed to see him go, as he is useful for our squad. His recent attitude and performances have been such that we could ship him off already. Serie A will suit his game, but I don't think he is nearly good enough for Juventus

Fair enough.

I would have preferred him to stay too but I'm not over aggrieved he's off.

Something clearly wasn't right behind the scenes for him to want out so much.

Shame as he did look like a very good young player at one point. Can't see him returning the that level with Chelsea, he'll be Scott Parker mkII

Personally I think he's the problem, not Everton.

He has a big ego and believes he is already better than the club yet has never proved it over a prolonged period.

He will have to hit the ground running at Chelsea or will find himself at West Ham before long.

Probably got a lot to do with the gangster that's going to kick his head in as much as anything else.

Sky seem to think Ballbag has a direct line to the negotiations supposedly going on today.

GUILLEM SAYS

Discussions between clubs are taking place about the price right now. The figure Liverpool will start considering is 150m euros (and Barcelona will be willing to pay even more as they want this to happen).

Barcelona will go as far as it takes to bring Coutinho now, the squad are putting pressure for that to happen, it is the kind of quality the team needs to keep winning titles.

Both Coutinho and Barcelona want this sorted now. They don’t consider the possibility of agreeing now for the summer. That scenario only benefits Liverpool, it doesn’t benefit Barcelona or Coutinho.

Eventually Liverpool will have to decide if they sell him now or in the summer, but that could be used to press Barcelona to pay even more than 150m euros."

Sky Sports are as bad as any redtop these days.<laugh>

We have to decide if we want to sell now or in the summer.... we’ll technically we don’t have to do either. Everyone’s writing like it has to happen and we can’t atop it and Barca are doing us a favour ffs <laugh>

Exactly, they conveniently forget FSG/LFC hold all the aces, all down to how important the money is to FSG and if/when they want it..
