Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to sign three Man Utd stars if Coutinho deal collapses
BARCELONA star Lionel Messi wants the club to sign three Manchester United players if a deal for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho falls through, according to reports.

According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle United have lodged bids for both Islam Slimani and Danny Ings - and if they manage to sign them both then Rafael Benitez may finally have the firepower required to take his team away from danger.

Newcastle have struggled for goals throughout the campaign so far, with Dwight Gayle and Joselu failing to find the back of the net with any sort of frequency.

Ings and Slimani would improve Benitez’s squad considerably though, and both would have to be considered upgrades on his current available options.

All of that ignores the simple fact that transfers aren’t accounted for in that manner

Imo the only logic for Barca is to rotate coutinho with iniesta this year to keep the great man fresh for cl games.

My view is players have to move out of Barca. Nobody else agrees yet the evidence is there.

I nearly agree
I wouldnt say skint but I think most clubs have to look at their finances now including Barca. I think they could prob afford him because they could dip into their ground renewal fund pay for couts then in six months make the moves you are suggesting with their squad.
There are of course a few who treat money like confetti at the mo. Real funded by government or royalty - no idea which but they always have dosh,
Citeh cause we all have to buy petrol
PSG and one of italian sides the same :)
But generally i agree :)

They will shift some though, not to get Coutinho but simply because they don't reach they standard Barca expected.

Barca look like winning the league already. Coutinho getting a winners medal will as honourable as Michael Owen's PL medal! Coutinho is cup tied in the CL too.

Makes much more sense all round to make a deal for the summer instead.

So they could use him in the league to save Iniesta for the CL. Makes sense <ok>

Yes, they could do nothing about Neymar because of the buy-out clause but see no reason to throw that money away when they could get a player for less.

What need?
 
Emre Can will not leave Liverpool during the January transfer window, according to Sky Germany.

Can is out of contract at the end of the season but is still in talks with Liverpool over a new deal.
 
Makes sense to keep Can. CM isn’t our strong area and have injuries so for the £10m mad we’d get for him in Jan, might as well keep him and hopefully help get CL where can get proper replacement for him.

Lose him in aummer for 0 or maybe even get him to sign new contract b
