Get ready for a barrage of the Coutinho **** with him as well.

We all know this **** will happen. How do you build a team to compete with the likes of City when every time top players emerge we lose them to the predators?

We'll have to hold players to their contracts sooner or later, and tell the likes of Coutinho or Salah that you've signed a contrcat for 4-5 years and we expect you to honour it. Even if the likes of Barcelona and Madrid come calling.

It's a pecking order. The good news is that there are only a handful of clubs above us. The o my way to beat them is to join them. Winning everything is the key to that. Winning nothing and we'll forever be at risk of losing top players.

We need a bit of luck to break that cycle. As I have said before we almost have to do a Leicester - beat the odds. Winning the title would help break that cycle. That is why I and many of us were rather upset at missing that great opportunity in 13/14 when we had the title at our grasp. I know it's all water under the bridge and no point crying over spilt milk etc etc :bandit: (Stevie said he still had nightmares about it!) but it will now be a few years before this opportunity will come back again.

City are the team to beat at the moment and for the rest of us its hard.

They will soon start feeling how us,Chelsea, Arsenal, spurs and utd feel about losing key players when Barca, real and now psg with cash start taking an interest in their players.

As you say wining things is key,so far city don't have the CL trophy.
