Hmm it’s a balance really - if the player is good, we should pay well and maybe a bit more to keep him.

Paying £100k plus for average players is simply wasteful.

Regarding Milner - I’m sorry but this guy is not worth £120k plus regardless of how many mins he played or penalties he scored. I love Sturridge but again, it’s poor value for money.

By and large I agree, and I think they're all ridiculously overpaid anyway. I think our midfield has looked a bit stronger this season when Milner has come in, but he isn't worth what he's being paid. As for Sturridge, I like him and think he'd be a great player if he wasn't so injury prone. I'd keep him if we could get him to take a cut - after all, who's going to give him a better deal given his record?

If I were God all first team players would get the same flat rate, and enhancements would be performance related - as a team, not as individuals.

Come June 30th 2018, Schalke 04 player Leon Goretzka will officially become a free agent and according to Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff, the player will be playing for a Premier League club.

The midfielder has turned down all offers of a new contract with the Bundesliga outfit and has been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus, as well as rivals Bayern Munich in the last few months.

Goretzka was one of Germany’s best players at the last FIFA Confederations Cup, which the World champions also won. But which Premier league club could he be joining?

My simple answer is – Arsenal

Yes, that’s right. I sincerely believe the German will be playing for the Gunners next season. Although some reports today claim he has signed for Liverpool, I do not want to believe it especially as the rumours are not coming from very reliable sources. There are just too many reasons why I believe he will be signing for Arsenal and not Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United or any of the other clubs that have been linked with his signing.

That's a fantastic analysis by whoever wrote that. Oh I don't believe it's lfc cos I don't like the source and by extension he's joining arsenal over everyone else

I agree. Shocking that they had to wait for thale banks to open this morning to get that money into their account.....
