I don't know what to believe about what our budget was pre Couthino. If we are to believe everything we read (I know!! <doh>), the VvD and Keita deals were to be financed without the sale of Couthino.

That would mean that we would/could have the entire Couthino money to reinvest. Unlikely.

In any event, I will fill my time speculating on who we will buy with this unlikely windfall.

I'd start with Gabbiadini and Bertrand from Southampton just to freak the f#ckers out <laugh>

Draxler, Max Meyer, seasegnon....

And to top it off, Aubameyang <ok>

And the money set aside for the Keita deal will now not be spent until next year. Thus we have funds for Lamar (sp).

Oh, and Ward-Prowse would be a good addition too. :cheesy:

No idea mate - part of me wants to keep him because I'm sure he will work hard and perform for us if he is to stay.

But €160m for him is ridiculous money - provided we bring in someone like Draxler as well as Lemar, then I'd definitely sell.

If we don't need the money (we don't) then I'd keep him to spite the twat after this drama-queen 'injury' malarky. ****ing fragile Blanche Du Bois. **** the ****ing little ****er. This is all designed to make us get angry so that we'll sell - instead we should get angry so we don't sell. :emoticon-0176-smoke

What do you think of the latest rumours of a swap deal between City and Arsenal for Sanchez & Sterling? Latest news is that Arsenal will have to pay cash on top of it...

You're best placed to give an opinion on Sterling. Yes he's much younger, he's english and he has a long term contract, but surely Sanchez has so much more end product and fight in him that he's worth a lot more?

showing your age DD

One of the all time beauties that woman, Vivienne Leigh, when she was young. Gob-smackingly gorgeous. Mad as a ****ing March hare though - the Streetcar role reportedly pushed her over the edge into her own mental illness.

She still had more moral fortitude than Ford though. :emoticon-0181-fubar

Coutinho fee agreed
19.50: Liverpool have reportedly agreed to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £148.5million (160m euros).

But an announcement has been delayed until Liverpool have brought in a replacement for the Brazilian.

That is according to Yahoo Sport and if true, would mark the end of lengthy chase by the Spanish side to sign Coutinho.

The deal would make him the second most expensive transfer of all time following Neymar’s move to Paris Saint Germain.

The report claims the 25-year-old was told by Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group they had finally dropped their public insistence that he would not be sold

He isn't a patch on Sanchez and never will be.

Welbeck and him together... scary... not.

Sanchez has arsenal by the short and curlies. 50mil in and no return after 5 years.

That's a massive amount for him if true. It really is.

If Sterling could learn to kick a football properly would be a very good player. When on form for us, he was very very good. He played wide and inside for us and really developed. What helped him was the space that Studge and Suarez created for him admittedly but he ha s big potential. Don't think he's kicked on, it's just his overall technique that is holding him back.

I rate Sterling slightly higher than most on here but if he goes to Arsenal under Wenger he will at best stagnate & more likely go backwards due to the (supposed) comfortable climate at the Emirates.

If it's not impossible add ons and over 15 years yes.. I would be very happy to see that done.. if lemar comes... it's a crazy amount.

Built the ****ing Annie road end out of it... please..

I'm sure there'll be a degree of add ons but we doubt it'll be structured like the last offer. We need to get Lemar over the line first....but given we've just dropped our interest in Sanches, maybe that's closer than thought!

Sterling has never been the same player since he stopped playing alongside Suarez. He was a hard little bugger once who'd run through walls and was afraid of no-one. He played at the head of a diamond once against Fellaini at your place - there must be a foot difference between them but Sterling bullied him off the park. Without meaning to sound spiteful, I think his career has gone totally backwards at City (yes, he's won a trophy), and for all this talk about him wanting to play in the CL, the season he played there for us, and when he's done it for City, he's ****ing woeful.

Pity - he was a real talent at 19/20.

This is absolutely crazy money paid by a club who is under pressure not to lose face. £160m is unrefusable. Even in a stupid market that money would represent 3 very good players.

I think we should take the money and run.
