LIVERPOOL TARGET POISED FOR JUVE SWITCH
Juventus star Sami Khedira has confirmed that his Germany team-mate Benedikt Howedes is close to joining Juventus.

The Schalke star reportedly rejected the opportunity to join Liverpool and Spartak Moscow after favouring a switch to Serie A and will join on loan with a view to a permanent €15million move.

“I talked to Benedikt and I am happy he will join Juventus”, Khedira said.

“He is a leader and he always gives the best, he will be very important for us. Things will be easier with him because he can cover many roles in defence. He will have to adapt to life in here. Italian football is not easy. Trainings are tough and I took a while to settle in well too. Trainings with [Juventus boss] Allegri are the toughest I’ve ever done.”

Howedes’ snub could lead Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to reignite his interest in Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk before the transfer window shuts on Thursday.

Why would we sign up for that... <laugh>
This way is a benefit for both our clubs.

We were much more desperate to buy the player from them than they were of selling him to us. After all it was not as if they needed to sell him and they knew they would get the price they wanted from many other clubs...

We always had to dance to leipzig's tune. They got a great deal : no downsides from their point of view.

Sky sources: Liverpool reject Crystal Palace's third offer of the summer for Mamadou Sakho.

The bid was thought to be £22m plus £3m in add ons. Palace know Liverpool's expectations on the fee and the rationale behind it.

Liverpool value Sakho at £30m.

When you see what other CB's are potentially going to go for, that's bloody cheap!

So Arsenal are apparently going to do a swap of Sterling and Sanchez.. and send some money to city with it <laugh>

anyone else think Wenger is just on the ultimate troll to see what he can get away with in these next 2 years.

i presume you picked this up here

SANCHEZ, STERLING UPDATE

Details of the negotiations which have taken place between Manchester City and Arsenal are becoming a little clearer this afternoon...

We understand Manchester City are keen on a simple cash-only deal for Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal, however, are considering a deal which involves Sanchez heading for Manchester City, with Raheem Sterling heading for north London. Interestingly, we understand that the deal would also include Arsenal paying a fee to City as a makeweight.

So, to confirm, that's Arsenal paying City a fee for Sterling, with Sanchez also going to City. Wow!

........

sky sports live....

wow... arsenal are shagged... if we can get our act together this year we might have enough of a lead over spurs before they get sorted to secure 4th by christmas.... unbelievable.

He had a medical and you've triggered his release clause a year in advance

The risk is now all yours

If you hadn't done so then any club could have triggered it next summer

<laugh> That wouldn't make any business sense. That's not how things are done.

Leipzig could provide a faulty product... run him into the ground, etc. This is a common sale option. Pay down payment for option to buy at future date. FSG aren't fools, and that agreement would benefit both parties instead of just one.

The buyer is almost never obligated to buy an option.

Palace got an equal share of the TV money, make them pay in full(they can afford it)or tell them to go forth a multiply.

Not according to our club website. He's not on our books yet. He's not scheduled to arrive until July 1st. If this was a loan back deal he would be available immediately when German season ended.

Yes it's not actually loan back but it's like that for all practical purposes. It's common in Germany.

He took the medical to prove he isn't faulty at time of purchase.

If he gets injured at RB then yes we're ****ed just like every time our players get injured with England (minus the wages covered by RB/England insurance policy).

Why has he had a medical then?

Theoretically, giving them 10p as a premium is beneficial to both. 3m is chump change as a premium and they'd be better off hawking him around for more than that as a premium. They could get a lot more from other clubs

Van Dijk to Liverpool twist
16:30: Liverpool fans believe Virgil van Dijk is finally about to join the club after tracking a van from John Lennon airport.

A private jet is said to have arrived at John Lennon airport this afternoon and the people on the flight were picked up in Mercedes club van.

The van spotted today has the same registration number as vehicle which picked up Mohamed Salah and is supposedly on the way to Stanley Park.

`
yeah but nobody goes to anfield do they?

they are most likely to go to melwood UNLESS the medical is actually occuring at a certain hospital. however that certain hospital while a lot closer to anfield is still unrealistic.

A van is driving around... ok.. we will hear on sky that southampton have done the deal first imo. they will want thier side of it out first were it to be happening. Its two days too early.
