What a day for the site to go down! £51m for Keita is a great move! Shame we have to wait a year but it's great planning for the future.
And then we go a bid for Lemar!! As much as I like Ox, Lemar is twice the player and if we managed to get him and VVD, then it's a bloody good summer.

Adding Lemar and we can really see the future team. We have to get that CB though.
Getting Can signed up also has to be a priority.
Agreed. We need a CB who we can rely on. It's the key piece of the jigsaw. Get VvD and Lemar and this season gets interesting. We'd still be a couple of players short imo.
It depends on how much of an impact VVD can have if we get him. If he can organise that defence we have a shot like some other teams.
Lemar would be a brilliant addition - that link cane out of nowhere!
However, the cynic in me thinks that we're preparing for Can's and Coutinhos departure next season.

Our top targets were Salah, Keita and VvD.
We have 2 of the 3 so far....albeit Keita won't join until next year. VvD would actually make what looked like a poor window a pretty good one, especially when you throw in the Robertson deal and stealing Solanke from Chelsea....but no VvD or CB would not be good. Fine lines.
Lemar is a Couthino replacement, am sure of it...if he's not coming, I exepect a last minute bid for the Ox.

I agree - Chelsea looking to spend £35m and that's what probably threw us off. But then want to spend £70m on Lemar lol.
I think VVD gets done today ..
Most reports are saying he's gone to Chelsea. Hopefully they are right I'm not a fan.
I'm undecided on him but given Klopp can turn a pigs ear into a silk purse, i'd roll with it
Have to say though that Mo Salah in today's market was an absolute steal.
My understanding is the following.
1. We paid a paltry 3mil over the 48mil buyout clause for Keita. 15mil loss for rb Leipzig to save face.
2. Lemar bid may well include origi now and is about 66mil. Monaco.. well... the player wants to go.
3. Vvd deal is 81mil inc add ons. It's been agreed since last week but not being done til deadline day to save Southampton face.
4. Leicester will pay 25mil for sahko. West Brom are in cos they see Evans going for 30.
5. Coutinho is not likely to go but a deal for next summer may well be done already.
