If Coutinho stays, I'm sure he'll be putting in a shift - WC year is huge, he'll have exposure in the CL and he won't want Barca to notice any half arsed performances.

Keep him. He'll come around, we (the fans) will continue to support and cheer him on and allow him to **** off next year under better circumstances.

maybe he won't push that extra yard to get a tackle in, or maybe he'll bottle a 50/50 so he doesn't get injured. Loads of players do that for the world cup and especially if hes thinking he'll go to barca. Just my opinion

Ford does that anyway!

FSG have backed themselves into a corner. Let's assume they're a company of their word. If so, we won't lose Coutinho but we also don't get VVD as they stated we won't be back in for him.
Read on Empire of the Kop earlier that Klopp is after an "experienced midfielder". Are they a reliable source or just click bait?

FSG have, for once, taken a stance, and if they stick to it I applaud them. We have withdrawn our interest in VVD, but if Soton make him available that is different. But they won't, so I hope we're not waiting by the telephone for a call from them.

Tbf, they took a strong stance over Suarez until he took one too many lunch breaks during a game (perhaps Phil should start noshing on people?).
Henry is very old-school American and has expressed amazement in the past at how the players and their agents wield so much power in football. It wouldn't surprise me if he were to dig his heels in on principle.
Having said that, nothing would surprise me this window.

He's a cock. Coutinho is also a cock.

To be fair to VVD, he made is clear that he wanted to move a while back.

Handing in the transfer request a day before our first Pl Game and then our CL qualifier is pure ****housery. But remember, Coutinho is represented by that Kia fella who will sell his mum for a bigger commission. Kia and Barca will do anything to get what they want hence these dirty tactics.

Na his behaviour after the TR went in makes him a cock.

Coutinho as you say started his cock status quickly and now all this utter bullshit about blaming Klopp just adds the hairy balls to his cockness

Does not change the fact he was happy as captain & signed an extension a matter of just a few months ago .

I agree - but he is gone - and like MITO (I think) totally agree couts will be a massive massive miss to me this year as our team has been built around him :(

He made it know he wanted to move far earlier but that cock only handed in a transfer request about 5 days ago so he's just as big a cock

Danny Mills on BBC.

"I don't think Philippe Coutinho will stay at Anfield. He started with a statement calling for an amicable move, but four days later he submitted a transfer request. It's his dream move and I don't blame him in the slightest.

Liverpool have no right to make a fuss, especially with their pre-season behaviour involving Southampton.

Ultimately, Coutinho will simply remain unhappy and Liverpool simply need to bite the bullet. The club has a £100m asset there, a player who may want to force a move."

Jermaine Jena's on BBC.

"In my opinion, Liverpool should say 'thank you very much for your service, we'll keep this professional, on you go'," Jenas told BBC Radio 5 live.
"The problem is are Barcelona ever going to come back? If they go out and find someone else, that chance has gone," Jenas added.

"He'll be looking at this from a player's perspective going: 'This is my opportunity. I've given everything I can for Liverpool, this is my one chance to get to Barcelona and I'm going to do whatever it takes to get there'.

"It is going to get messy. The player wants to leave. The club have given him almost nowhere to move."

Sound, it matters not where it leaves us at the start of the new season but yeah let's give him the freedom of the city and give him an Hawaiian send off to Barcelona at Liverpool Airport, oh and let's pay for the hire of a private jet for him.

"Given his all for Liverpool"
