It's very simple - it's too late to replace Coutinho. If he handed in the request at the beginning on the window and not the eve, then fine.

He can't afford to sulk this year if he doesn't get his move because of the WC. We we would be stupid if we sold now.

But no one can blame him for wanting to leave. He should be playing with the best and challenging for the titles. We simple haven't created that environment yet, and thus far, the window has been a disappointment and we look no closer to challenging.

Barca are clearly desperate - their tactics in getting targeting Dembele and Coutinho this late suggest they want a quick sale but at a cut price.

They're in a financial mess at the moment and I don't think they can afford over £100m for both of them.

Now Spurs close to signing Davison Sanchez..

Could see VVD move once these deals are completed.
 
At least this episode is creating some excitement on this board. Nearly 600 posts over a 24 hr period for a non match thread! Is this a record?

Have LFC officially asked that? If they have, I am not that surprised. For Barcelona they need a big name and a player with the potential to be a world beater. £120m could be the final price and this is much more than I thought we would get at the start of the saga.

With that money, I can see LFC making bids that Leipzig and Saints simply cannot refuse.

Saint had a private eye tail van dijk and take pics of him licking..... well my sources say it was an ice cream on Blackpool pier that klopp bought him but who knows what he was licking given the grovelling apology off issued immediately.
 
The Barca tactic of publicly going for 2 players at the same time has worked a treat for them. Both players and/or their reps are terrified there is actually only 1 going to be purchased have rapidly gone on to the normal end game of trying to force a move thru i.e. TR and not turning up for training etc.

Just try and sit it out & play hardball and we will wait to see who blinks first Dortmund , LFC , Ford or Dembele.

It's not Dortmund... just a hint there. It will never be Dortmund.

For those who reckon Coutinho isn't going to sit out because of it being a WC, i don't think it will make much difference.

Brazil aren't the force they used to be and are a very average side going forward. Outside of Neymar, arguably Jesus and Coutinho, everyone is kinda of average going forward.

I do think Couts will play though if he's made to stay behind. The only time he might take his foot off the gas is towards the end of the season depending on how close you guys are to winning the league.
