But he's one of us, and we all know that we share exactly the same opinion on everything.
Yeah, very parochial us like.

You appear to have thought wrong lad, but not to worry eh.
He's still a **** like his father though, eh?

It is quite embarrassing how many ex Scouse players have been talking in the media about VD though, don't you agree?
Haven't seen any of it and tbf their STD's are their own business.

Yes I wish they would mind their own business....
Surely if as you say that they're prepared to openly discuss having VD it is their business.
There is a way of doing this, all professional teams use the same method and it's accepted by most. The circumstantial evidence is there, all the "terms agreed" stuff when they hadn't even been officially allowed to approach him and a mountain of other stuff. We all know they tapped him up, just as clearly as we did with van Dijk, but they weren't stupid enough to get caught red-handed. So it comes down to whether or not they can convince that it was all media speculation.
The whole thing smells worse than a fish's fanny, but whether it can be proven is another matter.
Oh you know me? That's nice.Famous Scouse wit?....![]()
Yes, yes, you have very amusingly mistaken my deliberately shortening Van Dijk as VD for an STD....

Approach the agent and tell him you are interested in his player.
Agent asks what are you thinking for his future
Club, probably a contract of 4 years plus optional 1 or 5 fixed if we can agree and regular first team football in CL (dependant on clubs involved)
Agent, what were you thinking salary wise
Club, we can probably go to double his present salary.
Agent, I will have a word and see if he is interested.
See, no direct contact between club and player, no actual tapping up, just an enquiry made to see if it's worth putting a bid in. Most if not all clubs work this way, papers get wind of the interest (agent obviously) and "contract agreed" headlines appear.
Blame the agent for the tapping up in normal circumstances but then, it's their job to get the best for their client.
Some clubs just get it all wrong and sit down with a player personally to discus contract, salary etc before his club even know anything about the interest, that's known as tapping up.

Well seeing as it was me that posted my first comment then I can't have been mistaken La
