I think the interest is definitely genuine, but I can only see them making a concerted effort to sign him if Neymar opts to join PSG

The swap deals sound [HASHTAG]#legit[/HASHTAG] since Barcelona haven't got two euros to rub together

No chance of Liverpool accepting them though

Wow. Seriously... obviously danny has not seen on preseason game or any of our last games in prem either.

Not that he had any rep to behin with but he might as well give up pynditry in my eyes now.

Seriously. That is such a basic positional argument. Coutinhos played lw. Salah xan do that. Ok sell coutinho for what one midfielder now costs

And for £80m .....

At the end of the day, the bottom line is, is Coutinho happy to stay and play for Liverpool?.If yes, we keep him, if no, we sell him to the highest bidder whether Barca or not .We cannot keep unhappy player. It applies to all Liverpool players.I rest my case.

If they meet the asking price. In hindsight, I'd have kept Luis another year even if he'd gone ballistic. We never got his true worth in 2014 (£80m), and we didn't have a scooby how to replace him. We knew Sanchez wouldn't come, or it would have made sense, but we ended up with Balotteli. No, unhappy or not, meet the asking price, as we're going to have to do IF we get VVD and/or Keita.

3 grand a week which equals to just under 160k a year. How a non league football club can afford that on top of Paul Konchesky and Jamie O'Hara is madness.

They must have signed a giant local radio deal. Seriously, I know my workmates here in York reckon they never saw so much of their team on telly since they were relegated from League 2

Balotteli whose fault? Deranged player, those who bought him should have seen it coming.

Absolutely. I never blamed Balo one inch, even with that shirt-swapping thing at half time against Real. He was the very definition of a panic buy, and Brendan admits that now, and that's the bit that worries me - could Jurgen be headlocked by FSG into doing something similar, then we find in a few years that he had nothing to do with it?

I always liked Pennant with us. Gave us pace when at the time we had Kuyt and Crouch upfront. Never scored a lot but i think he knew it was massive opportunity to play for us and did well with it.

Now he's a journeyman who should not be getting 3 grand a week and ruining a football club <laugh>

He had one good half in the 2007 CL final. Er, that's it...

Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has tweeted on the current situation regarding Neymar and Barcelona.

His next tweets - following the one below - read: "Barcelona contacted Mbappe and have an agreement with Coutinho’s agent. But Liverpool are determined not to sell. Barca need Neymar’s money for anything.

“Everything Barca are doing now smells of desperation. They have been reactive (not proactive) for too long. Even Mbappe contact arrives late.

"The offer Barca took to Liverpool for Coutinho (€80m) is something they cannot pay if in an unexpected twist Neymar decides to stay.”

That's why I say we should insist any deal with them is cash (£80m, never mind the £130m we want), as they just can't pay it unless they sell Neymar, and if they sell Neymar they can afford £135m in cash. **** 'em.

Mt daughter has gone gluten free as her feller has to. She really enjoys it, but I see the stuff in Tesco's and it costs an arm and a leg. Have you tested him for gluten?

Not uet. Its all at once.

Its not gluton imo cos hes fine with bread and doesnt get sick or that like a seliac would.

Dont know how to spll that but i reckon gluton free is a large fad barring the few who really are bad. I think its all placebo effect

I agree. The lad did nothing unexpected.

Anyone care to bet there will be an arsenal link to the player directly after this?

nice deal for a nothing player isn't it.

They must have nice gates to pay it.... or do they get a trickle down of some level

The fellow who now owns them is a multi-millionaire and is doing a Man City at national league level. The fellow in question looks like a typical wide boy. I know a few town fans who think it's all going to end in tears. There gates of probably 1500 is not going to support his spending when he gets bored.

Who was that Scottish team who romped up the divisions when backed by a multi millionaire then, when he got sick and had to drop out, they folded soon after?

it will cos the moment it dries up all those contracts will be left and will put them into liquidation.

Are Southampton lining up a replacement for Van Dijk?
Southampton are lining up a replacement for Virgil Van Dijk, according to the Daily Mail.
Tottenham’s Kevin Wimmer is the man the Saints want should the Dutchman depart St Mary’s.
