That has a slight issue.... not one of those players refused to play, the worst was modric who felt levy lied to him totally... also as i said everton v relatively big clubs... saints are more in every one place in this.the player knows that saints want to survive. Just like Everton under old bill were only ever making ends meet.

If saints battle against him going the very best they can hope for is what you have said. The most likely is they will end up selling and not having a replacement.... If they are stubborn about it.

City, Chelsea or us could buy him for all I know.... the best result for saints was 6 weeks ago collecting the 70mil and not complaining to fa about an innocent stroll down the pair at Blackpool <whistle>then spending the wedge on 3 players... Like Everton have done with lukaku. Unfortunately they got stubborn, complained.. alienated the player who should have known better anyway, the agent who is useless and now it's a bad situation for them.

It's just as bad or a tally worse than us and sahko as we just binned him off. They can't afford to do that

To be fair you have totally binned off sahko for the past year and a half and you still want and realistically could get 30m.

Soton could still easily get 50-70m even in january or next year if they wanted to. Especially as we know how desperate teams get in jan especially since he wont be cup tied

Schneiderlin also had a fantastic last season with us after throwing a wobbler on twitter when he told he wasn't following Poch, Lallana, Lovren etc. out of the door.

I'd rather have VVD (had to be careful with the V's there) than not have him, as we don't have any alternatives and we do need a top CB to play alongside Matip. I'm sure Keita is worth the money, and we've got it. But I think we needed a DM and a top LB, along with a striker (why did we not even attempt to get Hernandez, ffs?) more than another midfielder.

We could but the sad reality for us is we failed to get him sold last summer and last January and it was his loan to palace that has given us the idea to charge 30mil.

Saints issue is not what money they get in 6 or 12 months time it is what centre halves play for them and how they get on in the league. As I said Everton whole pre-season was upset in 2009 and it affected their preparations and first half of year rather than shovelling the guy out early for the same fee and getting on with it.

The reality is while van dijk trains on own you can't avoid the dressing room or breakfast and lunch areas etc...

If saints are happy with the cb they have fine. It's only 65k a week for him now... but if they are going to end up 16th in January hoping to buy a cb to replace him that would be mad.

They have a guy saying he won't play so have made him train on own. Imo they either force a back down and he plays within the week or they should start getting very nervous imo.

Are you lot going to buy him?

Doubt it now we have got rudiger. I wont be surprised if city make an offer.

As for vvd dont think he refused to play just said his mind wasnt fully focused. Same thing happened to suarez when brendeb made him train by himself.

Soton are still loaded they got 15n for rodriguez, have new tv money and havent really bought anyone. Their academy is still producing the goods and they can buy a defender even not selling vvd.

Depends how they want to play it in my opinion especially as vvd is on a big fat contract. I reckon they will get the full 70m

As for 15mil... you cant by **** for 15. You barely get a hull lb for that

As for big fat contract.... He is on 65k.... that's nothing these days. I presume you mean the 6 years....

Correct hes in a 6 year contract. No chance is vvd depreciating in value imo irrespective of if he plays or not. Oscar was basically part time for 2 years and went for record sums. Same as sahko.

Either way Soton still have the new pl money who they can buy someone nifty from abroad which is what they do. They very rarely buy from pl so wont be needing the vvd money.
