The bottom line is...

We need to either get the agent to sort his player out to move or offer £70mil as a final offer. Failing that forget it and look for someone else.

We can't let this drag on much longer it's getting ridiculous now.

I think we bid 70mil and if it's turned down go back to the original idea of getting a top quality DM and let Cout and Lallana play in a midfield 3. Someone like William Carvalho would have been a good start (although I think we could get better).

This LB thing is ****ing stupid too. We've relied on getting our top targets done and skimped on a LB, now to (probably) find out our top targets won't come and we're left with a bang average LB. It makes me wonder what the **** some of our back room staff see, if they don't realise we seriously needed quality on the left. Yet now we have Milner as our number 1 and some two-bob LB that even YouTube can't make look good.

I know there's '68%' of the window left, but as things stand is a ****ing joke.

The reason Klopp has mentioned being really positive and Sturridge etc. is because he knows he's made some pretty obvious errors this window and he's hoping the fans fall for his optimistic bollox.

To be fair on left back - we wanted mendy who is apparently asking for something crazy like £200k a week in wages plus £40m fee, and we wanted Emerson from Roma who was injured on last day of season (serious injury).

Robertson is a cheap, no risk option who suits us. He can't be worse than Moreno or Milner. I Think he could surprise a few people.

Re. Keita - he is a one off, so we will not find an alternative. As others have said, figure out the most pressing issue in midfield and buy accordingly. I would like a real box to box mid who can carry the ball.

VVD will happen, it's all gone quiet which is a good thing.

LFC have money but there's no like-for-like for Keita, so an alternative is a cheaper CM plus someone like Aubameyang

Dont talk **** you have the Scottish Maldini in the bag but thats only as you sold Hull a donkey to give the money back to them...
Your clearly keeping your cash to fund your next lean to ffs <laugh>

I agree on LB. mendy is being quite greedy. If city have not bought him he must be totally money mad...

Roberston.. yeah its clear he's 3rd or 4th choice which is what it is but i think milner will start and we will see if he can force his was in. Klopp trusts milner.. but klopp won't play favorites if the guy is actually up to it.

Keita is what you said. he might not be the finished article but he's a player that klopp likes and its really his club thats just saying no way. Its very clear the public statements from them that is not happening. the other stuff aorund the sides is a ll opinion or people drssing up stories to sell them so can't be taken credibly. At this point no offer looks like making it unless he downs tools.

VVD you are right, completely quiet.

a) suggests his agent is happy.... which suggests he knows something.
b) player and southampton are quiet. suggests they are getting on with training.

Overall the main question is offer or no offer? until someone actually ponies up 50-60mil bid its just a story.

.

Yeah that's fair comment but buying a relegated Hull City LB, really?!!

I'm just astounded that we didn't buy someone that is quality. I hope Robertson makes me eat my words but I seriously doubt it.

There are plenty of LB's that go from 10-25mil that would have been miles better. Ricardo Rodriguez went for about 12mil ffs, yet we're getting some lightweight lanky kid.

We've skimped on a LB to have money for CM and CB targets. If they both happen then fair enough, if they don't we've skimped money for no reason. Shoddy work from what I'm seeing/hearing.

But we clearly don't know what the next couple of weeks hold so I'll wait and see. As things stand though it's not looking great....

In his favour he counts as British for our quotas. And he won't be leaving for ACON unlike everyone else we're apparently signing. <whistle>

My thoughts on LFC right now:

If we don't buy anyone else

a) Nobody will step up as a realistic option and we will implode in January/ Christmas with players being over used

b) We have GOMEZ, TAA, GRUJIC, ROBERTSON and WOODBURN. If these guys step up and be real options for the first team then we have bodies to come in and rotate.

c) we will get lucky with injuries and cup draws and be able to scrape by.

Realistically:

RB: Clyne and TAA. TAA has to step up for us this year here
LB: Milner and robertson. This singing has to work out.
CB: Milner, lovren... KLAVAN... my god any injury at all and we could see klavan for a month or 2 months in the side and he is bang average at best. This is really scary. IF gomez steps up I think this is still an issue
DCM: henderson and can
CM lallana, wijnaldum, Grujic, coutinho, Can (see some players doubling up here.) Grujic might be good in prem as a big tall guy with a bit of ability ut he needs to move the ball a lot lot faster... DEFFO worried here
Wide forwards: Coutinho Salah Mane... One short here? woodburn just isn't a wide player. kent and wilson are only options. firmino isn't good wide imo
Strikers: firmino, sturridge, orgigi, ings.. prob one too many here

Really its not like we all can't see the issue coming down the road.

The ideal is obviously 140mil on the two known players. (or about half that :) ) and some clear issues that are in there get negated.

I just feel as of now we need to buy 2/3 players to be ready ofr the season... if we don't we are looking at 6th, no trophy and a CL campaign to 3rd in group and then into europa.. which isn't ideal but whats likely as 3rd seeds anyway.

All I can see is KLAVAN... potential no midfield subs.... nobody in no 6 thats good at it etc.

teams:

mingolet
Clyne Matip Lovren Milner
Henderson
Wijnaldum Couinho
Mane Firmino Salah

Karius
TAA Gomez KLAVAN Robertson
Can
Lallana Grujic
Woodburn
sturridge origi
the plan is only as good as the first week in September when injuries can occur and we cna be looking at 3 months without reinforcements
